(SoapOperaNetwork.com) -- There will be a new face arriving soon in the town of Port Charles. His name .... Trevor Lansing.

SON has confirmed that Stephen Macht has landed the role of Trevor Lansing, father of District Attorney, Ric Lansing (Rick Hearst.) Father and son have been estranged, so the story goes, but Trevor resurfaces in his son's life come late August. Storyline for Trevor will involve the mob, including both Ric and Sonny.

Many may remember Stephen as Joe Cooper on "Knots Landing," or perhaps you recognize him from "Melrose Place," or "Murder She Wrote." Most recently, Stephen appeared on an episode of "Wedding Bells," "State of Mind," and "Boomtown." He has guest starred on numerous TV shows including "Cagney & Lacy," "Deep Space Nine," "Walker Texas Ranger," "Boston Public," just to name a few.

Stephen begins taping on the set of 'GH' on Thursday August 2. His first airdate is August 22nd.
