(SoapOperaNetwork.com) -- James Quentin (JQ) DePaiva, the ten-year-old son of "One Life to Live" stars Kassie and James DePaiva (Blair Cramer and ex-Max Holden), finds "New Beginnings" on "All My Children."
JQ was born with bilateral profound hearing loss. At the age of eighteen months, he received cochlear implant to improve his hearing. Since his diagnosis in 1998, the DePaivas have been very active in promoting testing and awarness for the disorder. Next month, the young DePaiva will be a guest on a special episode of the "AMC" talk show "New Beginnings" focusing on deaf children. JQ will portray Jason, a young child with hearing problems, and will share scenes with Kendall Hart (Alicia Minshew). JQ's appearance on "AMC" will correspond with an upcoming deaf storyline which will involve an actual deaf actor portaying the father of a major character.
Kassie DePaiva assumed the role of Blair Cramer on "OLTL" from Mia Korf in 1993. Before joining the ABC soap, she portrayed Chelsea Reardon on "Guiding Light" from 1986-1991. She is also an accomplished singer, and has released three CDs. On August 12th, Kassie will appear on the WABC-TV Weekend Morning News. James DePaiva originated the role of Max Holden on "OLTL" in 1987. After leaving the soap in 1990, he would return the following the year and remain in Llanview until 2003. Later this month he will briefly reprise the role of Max for a couple of episodes in honor of 10,000th episode of "OLTL." After leaving the ABC daytime drama in 2003, DePaiva directed episodes of "As the World Turns." After meeting on the set of "OLTL," the DePaivas wed in 1996.
Look for JQ DePaiva to appear on "AMC" September 20th, 21st, and 24th.
