It's been so quiet around here, and I guess all of us are just out and about doing things.
Today, I'm going to paint my bedroom. My mom has a huge task ahead of her of painting all the rooms in the house before she tries to rent it out, and I have some cans of paint I bought a while back, and decided to help her out and at least paint my room. We moved all the furniture out of it yesterday, so it's an empty slate. However, I have never painted a room in my life. We'll see how this turns out, LOL.
Good luck with the painitng! I've done enough of it to last for the rest of my life, refuse to do any more. The last job was painting Vanessa's room and it had to be done asap as mom and baby were still in the hospital. Had to scrape and peel off layers of wallpaper first, too. It was hell, lol.I swore I would never wallpaper another room after that experience. (They had just bought the house, so it was the former owners' wallpaper.)
So where are you living now, Jojo? With your mom until it's time to go to Wyoming?
My agenda today is slow and easy. Hop to the store for fresh bread and veg, pick up a bottle of wine for dinner, collect Mike from the airport at 6ish, parents coming for dinner, as is Mike.
Argh - wallpaper peeling IS the worst! I bought a couple of those scratchy gadgets, then sprayed the walls with some crud from the paint store, and voila! Nothing came off as promised. We had to scrape all of it off an inch at a time.
Herbst, what's Vault? I've never heard of it.
Mike's plane lands in an hour and a half! Yeah!
We just got back from errands and it's pouring rain. Thank goodness! Poor Ted will have to cook at the barbecue under an umbrella. This is one way for the hub to gain some appreciation for my cooking all these days with no stove. (smirk)
Hey guys! My Sunday was the oddest day.... I spent the morning spackling holes and getting the walls in my spare bedroom, the one with my new bedroom set, ready to paint.
After that, my nutty 38-year-old sister came over with her 10-year-old son. She lives on Cape Cod, so she does not make it to central Massachusetts very often, thank goodness. I went with her to my parents house, for an early dinner, and to watch my nephew (down at the water, my parents live on a lake), while she told them that she is pregnant with twins, and that the father walked out on her. Needless to say, it was a very different way to spend the day. My mother took the news much better than my father. I could write a book about my sister, and the stunts that she pulls. Last year she stole my father's identity, and charged up about $25,000 worth of debt, that my father had to cover, so that she would not go to jail......
