Hey guys, man this place has been dead lately. Did anyone do anything exciting over the weekend. Mine was pretty uneventful. Im still here at work, I thought last week would be my last week but then the girl I was training was offered a full time job somewhere else so she wont be working here. And since I dont start school until next Monday I offered to stay the extra week...So here I am
I'm back after 5 days with our friends from NY, just saw them out the front door for their drive home. We ate out a lot, went to jazz clubs, a soccer game, the CNE, a birthday party, and attempted to help one son in a grieving process that should have taken place 2 years ago.
Another friend returned home from a month in the maritimes with fresh lobsters as a thanks for watering her flowers - dinner tonight. Thankfully, they are already cooked.
My new stove arrived, got hooked up, and I have yet to even turn it on, lol. So now it's back to business as usual, papers stacked up that I ignored while friends were here, bills to sort through, forms to fill out, the same old routine.
I need to get the piece of glass in my foot carved out by a surgeon as the soak and prod method was unsucessful. Ugh.
Nick and Laura are working in an orphanage in Vietnam now, don't know for how long. Mike's apartment hunting, Tony and his family are back to normal after hosting a rather gala party yesterday for his birthday.
I'm exhausted, both physically and emotionally. I need some time to veg out, stare into space and re-adjust to all the changes going on around us.
I had a very mellow weekend, which I needed after last week. I am working from home today.
I am going into Boston tonight with my daughter and sister. We are going to see Meatloaf in a concert down on the Boston waterfront. We have tickets for the 10th row center. We are going to have dinner in the city prior to the show, so I am really looking forward to this evening. I'll be working from home, for a half day tomorrow also.
I have a telephone interview for the contracting job that I applied for, soon. It was scheduled for 11:00, but the interviewer was called into an emergency meeting. I am waiting to hear on the rescheduled time.
That would be cool to see Meatloaf, I sure hope you have a good time. Kae I bet you are exhausted after having guests for so long. Now you mentioned having to help a son grieve, is this the one whose ex just popped up?
Vietnam huh, that must be an interesting trip for them
Yep, Shelly, that's exactly what happened. Life sure has thrown up some challenges lately.
Oh a funny thing - at the Village People concert, after 15 minutes the hydro conked out due to high winds and the concert was cut short, lol. After all that fuss and carry-on to get there, battling crowds and screaming nuts..... At least our NY friends were happy they had a few minutes of them. Some things I'll never understand! And they couldn't wait to get back to NY because they missed their Dunkin Donuts coffee!! Gotta love 'em.
Good HEAVENS, KaeEll. You really had a busy time, but it sounds like a wonderful visit with your friends. Exhausting, but fun.
I'm drooling over the thought of eating lobster, which I haven't had in a long time, sorry about your foot, happy that you finally have your new non-exploding stove, and fascinated to hear more about the kids' experience at the Vietnamese orphanage.
You need that vacation, and I'm hoping that you get all the stuff resolved with your parents very soon so that you can take a cruise to the Greek Isles...

Tess (I'm pretty sure it was Tess, could be wrong, though) said that she talked to Tina on the phone several days ago and that she was on holiday in the Boston area with her family. I assume she's not back home yet.
Well, it's getting to be back-to-school time, so maybe she's running around with kidlets in an effort to get all the necessary clothes and school supplies.
