Amber debates with herself about the money - keep it, give it back, use some for a demo record.
Niki tells David that she firmly believes Victor released the tape.
Victor on the phone encouraging (someone) to investigate Jack's multimillion dollar fraudulent activities before the election.
Noah demands answers from Jack about why someone would fake his voice on a tape. Jack deals with it glibly. Sharon says she hates it that people feel they have to lie at all. John's ghost appeaars, says he couldn't have said it better.
Daniel visits Amber who lies, says she didn't find the money. They leave together to meet with Kevin and Michael. William's twin brother enters his room at GCAC next door to Amber's room.
David gives Niki a present - a holder for his hotel room key.
More John's ghost looking on, telling Jack that Sharon's right about lying being wrong. Good scene!
Jack asks his father to leave, his work is done now. John says he has to be there to knock some sense into him. John is exasperated with Jack's lies, says he could have told the truth. Jack's beginning to succumb to his conscience.
Niki accosts Victor in the gym, asks him if he's trying to work off ruining peoples' lives. Victoria stops the argument, Victor leaves. Niki speaks fondly to her daughter about David. Victoria scowls.
Michael informs Kevin, Daniel and Amber about what they could face regarding the charges and Kevin says he'd run rather go back to jail. Gloria interupts the meeting, hauls in lots of frivilous shopping finds, says she's decided to cover Amber's share of the missing money. Amber's all smiles until Gloria says it would be a loan. Amber says she won't sign the loan papers, tosses the file at Gloria. Kevin's jaw drops!
Victoria and Victor talk about Niki and how she is about to lose Victor, not the other way around.
Niki lets herself into David's hotel room using the key card he gave her.
Amber blathers on to Kevin and Daniel about how she doesn't have anyone in her corner, blah, blah. The guys roll their eyes, smack their foreheads.
Victor insists to Victoria that the public has a right to know that Jack committed fraud before the election.
Sharon and Noah in CL are confronted by a reporter. Noah tells the man to leave them alone, that Jack told him what happened. Sharon says she supports her husband, guy leaves.
David and Niki get cozy over bubbly in his room. You just KNOW where this is going, lol. Yep - right into bed!
Victor on the phone, saying he just learned that Rothby's is pulling out of Clear Springs, refuses to have anything to do with it, and he's afraid this is going to be the first of many.
Kevin tries reasoning with Gloria that giving the money to Amber, no strings attached, could be her charitable deed for the year. Gloria says it would be insanity. (Gloria is wearing this horrible green shirt with sequins for shoulder straps, looking like the stereotypical new-money witch - really funny.) And besides her charitable deed was paying for Jana's surgery. Then banter among Michael, Kevin and Gloria. Gloria says she knows that Amber knows exactly where that money is, and once she gets her (Gloria's) money, Amber's lifestyle will improve about 700,000%.
Niki and David bask in the blech....
Amber returns to her room at GCAC to find Carter sitting there on her bed.
Amber and Carter yap, yap as she tries to get him to leave and he keeps sticking around. (Does Carter know Amber has the money? I kind of get that impression, and he's playing with her.) She finally gets rid of him, slams the door at his back. Just then, Jeffery meets Carter in the hall as he's entering his room and they have a non-discript exchange.
Sharon tells Jack about the reporter and how Noah defended him. Good scene!! Sharon explains that she understands Jack's rationale for lying but she doesn't agree that his "good work" would never have happened if he told the truth.
Niki's in the living room of David's suite while he's in the shower, looks at a photo from her purse of the Newman clan and of her and Victor together, flashback to really old Niki and Victor scenes. (Holy cow! They both look so young - must be at least 25 years old.) Anyway, the flashbacks go on for a while leading up to Niki calling Victor, but hanging up when he answers.
Amber debates with herself again about the money. Gloria comes to her door! She announces that she has decided to GIVE her the money, no strings attached! Amber's delighted but has a tiny bit of skepticism about the arrangement.

ACK, my compuer conked out and I lost all of the recaps for the last 10 minutes.
Really briefly, Niki has several flashbacks to her love affair with Victor ending with their differences over her ambitions. She phones him but hangs up when he answers.
Gloria visits Amber and announces that she has decided to GIVE her the money, no strings attached. Amber, of course, is delighted, but a hint of doubt crosses her face as she looks at the air vent where the money is stashed.
