Seems like we're being smiled upon with weather this weekend as today is another gorgeous early autumn day. And today is the autumnal equinox so hereafter our days will be getting shorter and shorter until the end of December.
On this evening, an old friend and I will often write down all the negative things we've experienced in the past 12 months on a piece of paper, then on another, all our hopes and dreams for the coming year, burn the pages, then bury the ashes in the garden. I don't know if it does anything, but it seems to make her feel better.
So what's up for you today? I've got just a couple of things happening, like nipping off to the Bay (Hudson Bay Company - department store) for my Clinique stuff (it's bonus month) then back home for dinner as my parents are coming for barbecued steak and salad.
Across the street, the neighbours are having a second storey built onto their bungalow. The roofers are there today making a racket - on a Sunday!! They have this little elevator gizmo that carries the bundles of shingles to the roof and it makes the weirdest whirring, clinking noise. These are the neighbours who called the police and had our car ticketed when we left it on the street overnight. Should today be their day to have the police come shut down their construction noise?
It is an absolutely spectacular day, and weekend here in Massachusetts!
I have been busy this morning, doing housework and airing the house out. My house is officially spotless! I took care of the yard yesterday morning, so I have now officially completed all of my weekend tasks.
I am planning on spending the afternoon outside with a good book, and the Patriots game on. This evening my boyfriend and I are going out to dinner. Yesterday afternoon, my daughter came down from New Hampshire, with her puppy. We spent a few hours in the mall, I treated her to some new clothes for her winter professional work wardrobe, and then we had an early dinner. We came home and the dogs ran around the back yard. Tess was adorable, and Sabrina's puppy is a sweetie. It was so much fun to watch the two of them romp. It reminded me of the days when Dutchess and Tess used to do the same thing. Tess really needs a doggie companion, I'm just not really sure that I am up to bringing another dog into the house.
Tess does not generally like other dogs, so I would have to get a puppy that she can mother, that would be fine. My work schedule is so odd that I really don't think I would have the time to really devote to a puppy that is needed.... I can't seem to convince my daughter to give her little guy to me, go figure.
This morning, I took a few minutes out of my morning tasks, and bought a couple of tickets to fly over to Ireland for Thanksgiving weekend. Sabrina and I will leave Boston on Wednesday night, arrive in Ireland on Thursday, Thanksgiving morning, and return on Sunday. It will be a nice long weekend. My parents are thrilled that we are coming over, they return to their house there next week. I have already tasked them with finding a turkey for our dinner. It should be interesting to see if they can pull that one off. Turkey is not big over in Ireland.
Anyway, I hope that everyone is enjoying this glorious weekend, and go Pats!
The weather is great here too, we took the kids to Sunday school, ran an errand and then let them play at the McDonald's tunnels, I had to clean up the house a bit. It's always a mess!
Now I have to help my husband find something... back later
Yes Go Pats!! The weather here is also great. But we were in MA for the Big E fair thing way later then we should have so we arent doing much. I was at church up until about half an hour ago with a potluck. Now I think a nap sounds good. Hubby is watching a cubbies game anyways.
Tess do you think it would work if you got a dog that was like a puppy or would that not work. Like you can get a small dog. I doubt it would work but who knows.
Well I am now off to try and get some rest..will catch up more later
Today has been too long, my husband has been hanging around the house drinking, and it's just so annoying. I guess I should have ran out shopping but I really can't spend any money right now. I guess I'm glad my mom was here all day. it gave me someone to talk to.
The game is coming on soon, I just can't wait for the obnoxious yelling as he hates the quarterback
Yesterday was good and hard all in one lol. We got up early to pick up our washer and dryer from the one people. Heck I don't know who they are but I guess my hubby did. So I sent the kids ahead 2 church w/my dad. Well, when we got home from picking up the goodies, we got a surprise. Beth got a coughing fit in church, and puked. Lol never a boring day here. She wasn't sick as much as it's sinus drainage. So we missed out on the rest of church. Then we went to my gram's because yesterday would've been grampa's birthday. It was fun, but tiring lol.
