So this weekend, we went to see Blaqk Audio in concert. For those of you unaware, Blaqk Audio is a side project for two of the four members of the rock group AFI. Now the actual concert was good, electronica isn't exactly my cup of tea. And I was very annoyed by all the girls wanting to touch Davey Havok. The show seemed short, but then again, they only have the 1 CD to pull from at this point.
So there wasn't any announcement of whether there would be autograph signing, or anything. Tons, upon tons, of the fans waited after the show. The show had ended at 10 pm, we waited til 1 am only to see the tour bus drive off without a wave or even an announcement by someone from the band that they weren't coming out. Very saddening. Buttttt.... I can't say as I blame them for not wanting to come out.
See we were in an area called Five Points in Denver. And from what I saw, not a good place to be. We had guys running up and down the walk way talking their gangsta talk and then all of a sudden, Blaqk Audio fans came running around a corner and back into the group of people waiting. Cops had arrested several guys, but they came in with their guns out to do it. That was probably the sign we should have just left. But we stayed only to see more of "special" people arguing in the middle of the street and a girl basically beg a guy to try and kick her ass.
It was pathetic. After the band departed and everyone was leaving, a girl jumped in front of the bus to try and get it to stop. Of course this was the same girl that was screaming at the special element in the roads telling them to take their arguments away from us. Not exactly the smartest idea just like jumping in front of the bus.
There were two highlights to the show. My daughter loves Davey, so she made a picture since she didn't get to go to the show (being as she's seven and all). I managed to get it to the band's manager, who is also Jade (the other member of Blaqk Audio)'s brother. He took it and delivered it almost immediately to the band. So that was positive. And then there was Izra! Izra was this random guy who was out waiting with people and some how I got roped into being his photographer. He ran and around we took shots of him with everyone waiting outside. Definitely an interesting guy! Look for some pictures on my Myspace later this week.
But the evening did end on a sour note, and Sunday was a blah day thanks to rain and just tiredness from the show and such. Oh well, can't win 'em all.

doesnt sound too blah, sounds almost interesting. My weekend was alright, spent Saturday at the fair and spent yesterday recovering from said fair. I posted some pics.
Anyways, thats cool that the guy took the picture your daughter did.
Sounds like it was more of a disappointment than blah. Nothing like the lunatic fringe to add an unexpected element, though. Where do those nuts come from?
Oh I'm sorry to hear that the concert wasn't all that it should've cracked up to be. Did sound kinda interesting though. You know, I just shopped and hung out all weekend. I was given a bottle of wine from a local winery, and wow it was actually good. I'd have never figured Illinois would have good wine. Oh anyways, did you guys know that Payless sells American Eagle shoes... yeah it's a good deal.
