Noah, Paul and Maggie trapped still. The boy has cracked ribs. Lauren's with them too. No word from Jack, and they can't find Victoria who is down in the rubble with Adrian. Haven't seen Katherine today yet.
Some explosions are starting to go off. Sharon and Nick are okay - she's taken a bit of the pain meds.
Brad's on the surface. He and David are going to drive around looking for Victoria. Victor tells Neil to make a statement to the press.
There's tons of hype at the beginning "Out of the Ashes".
Paul's taking good care off Noah, moves him, Lauren and Maggie to a safer location in the mess. They hear some knocking and call out "hello". Paul finds a flashlight, reassures Noah, keeps him cheerful and calm. But Lauren's breaking down - Paul to her side with words of comfort.
Yep, Shelly. She (Victoria) is going to be in a "coma" for a bit but I read somewhere that it isn't going to be for very long.
This is a pretty darn good sweeps starter, but I really don't like dwelling on disaster scenes. I wish they'd get on with it, but looks like it'll be all week before it's over.
Uh, Phyllis causes a ruckus in the day room by throwing a chair and Jana covers for her. She was glued to the TV coverage of the disaster.
Oh, Jack!! He's crawling through rubble, coughing, passes out.
Michael's on the scene now with Gloria and Kevin, all gloomy and worried about Lauren's claustrophobia and panic attacks.
Okay - if anyone needs to miss one day of this stuff, looks like this is the one, unless you happen to like watching all the angst. And then on breaks, the news is covering horrible the Malibu fires. Argh!
Phyllis calls Michael, he blows her off with a promise to call her back when he has something good to talk about.
Geez - this soap seldom ticks me off but we just heard the head of the rescue team tell Victor that they have to slow down because of the delicate situation.
Paul tunes into Lauren's discomfort, Maggie looks on, worried because she can see their strong connection. (I guess this is the re-kindled love that was yapped about in the hype. And Nick and Sharon above ground over their mutual concern for Noah.)
Kevin's manning the disaster website. Below, while Paul scavenges for water, the women decide to move Noah closer to a car for protection in case something else collapses. Maggie tells Paul that the boy's pulse is getting weaker...and ta dah! The rescue team is there to get them out.
Above, Nick and Sharon are riveted to the opening, and up comes Noah on a stretcher followed by Lauren, Maggie and Paul. All are okay-ish. Nick and Sharon will ride with their son in the ambulance.
Lauren asks Kevin where Amber is - she's there in CS. Daniel calls her immediately, leaves her a voice mail. Nick makes contact with Phyllis in the jail with the good news.
Jack's awake again and moving rubble - he's not in good shape and another avalanche of crud falls on him.
Kay's coming to, moves away from a huge piece of debris, shakes her head in disbelief.
Shelly, I read that Jack will be around for a long time to come - PB signed another contract, so don't worry! I'd have a fit if Jack were killed off, and if I stopped watching this one, I'd be soapless, gasp!!
As for Cain, I don't think he's involved in the faulty concrete thing, but spoilers/rumours have said that he's not Jill's son and he and his uncle in Oz plotted the whole Chancellor scam from the beginning. I hope not, really. He's growing on me. I want the bad guy to be David Chow for CS and the Cain isn't Jill's son thing to go away.
And btw, speaking of rumours and spoilers for Y&R, quite a few of older ones have come to nothing. I'm thinking of the "Nick has been hiding something", for example. So I'm not putting too much faith in anything long term. Y&R only seems to spoil things that are really close to happening.
