I decided I want one of those brooms that are also a vacuum. Don't know why I wanted to share that. But when I make up my mind about something, I go get it! Woo hoo. (I'm a dork)
Very cool! I believe that I have also made up my mind about my next purchase. I'm actually going to look at it tomorrow...
I am going to look at my dream house. I have had my eye on a house that was built in my town about a year ago. It has 3,500 square feet, three bathrooms, a fireplace, 2-car garage, a full walk-up attic with dormer windows and four bedrooms. The builder put the house on the market for $600,000.00, about $100,000.00 more than the market was. He would not take any lower offers, and it is now a bank foreclosure. I should be able to pick it up for around $370,000, because the bank wants out of it, they have it listed at $399,000.00.
I'm insane, but I want it, and after my furniture purchases last summer, I actually have enough furniture for it! I just spoke to my banker, and I am approved for the mortgage, even if I can't sell mine really quickly.
Totally weird! There are enough bedrooms to give myself and each of the pets their own (just kidding!). I don't know what the back yard looks like, I can't see it from the road, and if it's tiny, I'm not going to make the move, because I need a good sized back yard for the girls to run around in.
I have factored all of the costs in, and I can still swing it, comfortably. I'm in a very lucky position, with having considerable equity built up in the house that I am living in. It really only means that instead of being mortgage free in two years, it will take about seven years, and since I am only 42, it doesn't put me into the senior citizen bracket, over my head.
I am not going to put an offer in tomorrow, I will actually bring my boyfriend back with me, not to get his opinion on it as a potential home, but to get his opinion on the construction and all of the guy stuff that's over my head. I know that I'll see the jacussi (I can't spell that darn word!) tub and all the other girly stuff and see moving vans in my imagination. It is actually a really good investment, and now that Sabrina is out of college, I actually have significantly more cash than I did in the days when I was paying college tuition and raising a child. But we'll see.... I'll try to remember to get some batteries for my camera, and take some pictures, so I can really reflect.....
