It's not morning any more, but hey all. It's a rainy cool day here and we're a little late getting started on the Saturday errands. First stop is Tiger Direct for the printer. Then the grocery stores, butcher shop, and yet another pumpkin (darn squirrels again).
We baby-sat last night and now my d-i-l is doing the strangest feeding ritual with the new baby involving a tube of her breast milk, string, a plastic tube and her finger. Anyone heard of finger-feeding a small infant? I understand that it's a way to get a tiny one to take in more nourishment, but wouldn't a bottle with a preemie nipple do the same? Just me, maybe, but it seems to be the hard way of doing things. What do I know.
I didn't watch any soaps yesterday and erased the recordings last night. Did I miss anything significant?
I missed the soaps as well. I'm watching Scariest places on Earth on ABCfamily .. lol getting geared up for Halloween... which brings me to a question for Branny, but that'll be asked in its own lil thread. We are going to a costume contest here in a bit at WalMart. Bethany is so excited. It will be loads of fun. Happy Halloween Weekend lol
Hey there! It has been an insane Saturday here in Massachusetts! I took the girls to the vets office this morning. My Tess has lost 10 pounds (now 103), and little Miss Dorie has gained four (now 23) in the month that she has been here with us, she is great!
Little Miss Dorie gave me quite a scare on the way home from the vets office.... Tess loves to ride with her head out of the window..... There is not a lot of room next to Tess on the seat... Anyway, I was going about 30 mph, and I heard a soft different noise in the back seat. I looked in the rear view mirror, to see what it was. I thought that it was really odd that there was a dog who looked just like Dorrie in the road behind my car.... I then noticed the purple leash, and realized that it was Dorie, and that she had jumped out of the moving car. Needless to say I stopped immediately and backed up, and then ran and picked her up. She was limping. I was hysterical!
I will say right now that she is fine, but..... I was a 1/2 mile from my house, so I drove home, got Tess into the house, and called the vets office. I put Dorie back into the car, which she wanted no part of, and went back to the vets office. My vet checked her out, and pronounced her none the worse for her jump, and suggested a dog harness that attaches to the car seat for any future car trips.....
Can you imagine had I not heard that noise and looked back? I would have gotten home, gone to let the dogs out of the car, and only found one, and not known where I lost her, in the seven miles between my house and the vets office.
I spent the rest of the day cleaning my cellar, while my brother-in-law installed a new basement door for me. I'm exhausted. It rained all day, but I am hoping that tomorrow will be dry, so that I can go outside and get some of the leaves off of my lawn, it looks pretty bad.
My house hunting is progressing. The one I was looking at went up for auction on Wednesday. the bank bought it back, so I have to wait a little while longer to get into it. I found another absolutely incredible one, that I am going to look at tomorrow at 4:00. I was supposed to be there today at 12:00, but Miss Dorie changed that plan.
I'm going to go get comfortable and get ready to watch the Sox! Go Red Sox, and tomorrow is another Patriots game. Darn it's a great time to be a New England sports fan!
wow Tess thats a little crazy. Thank heavens you got your dog. How scary, happy to hear that he is doing okay. My in laws are here and we spent a better part of yesterday in Hartford, CT. It was fun but we decided to go the brand new Cabelas on the same day as a UCONN football game, not so much fun.
Anyways this morning I am off to church and then we will spend the day in Mystic, thank heavens it seems to have dried up a bit.
