First Friday of the year is here

And what is everyone up too. I am not doing anything. My mother in law wants me to make french toast so that the bread doesn't go bad but I don't think anyone wants it. Vinnie just said he doesnt care, like thats an answer. Argh

Make the French toast anyway, Shelly. The guys will eat it! I love the stuff, so yummy with maple syrup on top.

I was up super early hacking and snorting through the dregs of this disgusting cold/flu whatever it is. At 11, it's the usual Friday run with my mom and her appointments and today I'm treating myself to hair and nails, too. Ted's going to chauffeur us around as he's taken the day off. It'll be my first day out of the house since December 24. Then it's lunch out someplace, a quick trip to the grocery store, then home to finish taking down the tree. I didn't get very far with it yesterday.

Did everybody see the Hollywood news of that poor thing Britney? The gossip rags are on fire this morning, lol.

I actually haven't heard much about Britney. I kind of tune it out. And yeah I suppose I should make the french toast. She doesn't want the bread to go to waste. Problem is is that I have never made it. As a kid we made it once and it came out to eggy and I have been afraid to make it since. Someone help

Shelly, the secret to good French toast is a SLOW cook. Whisk up your eggs with some milk and a shot of vanilla. Soak the bread slices, both sides, then place on the griddle on a low heat, turn once the first side is golden. I like to use quite a lot of butter on the griddle.

how many eggs and how much milk

One egg and a tablespoon of milk will make about one and a half slices. Depends upon the kind of bread. If it's French stick, cut thick, then one egg, one slice. If it's store-bought kleenex type wonder bread stuff, two slices per egg.

Just wing it. I always end up whisking more eggs and milk because I usually don't make enough first time through.

Most important is to let the eggs cook right through and no soggy blops in the middle.

I have to go get organised to leave soon. I'll check back in later. Let us know how the French toast turned out. Good luck.

The nice thing is too if you make too much egg and milk mix, you can just make some scrambled eggs out of it lol.

Ohhhh the Britney saga! Kae you know you've completely addicted me to Lainey. Before I saw her site I was just like Shelley with the oh whatever about it, but now... oh maaannn. For those of you with cell phones with Internet access, you've got to get yahoo go with updates. My phone was buzzing like crazy last night with all the updates hehe.

I hope the French toast turned out well for you Shel. I don't particularly care for it, but I'll eat it if it's there and I'm hungry.

Today was another of three very bad days. Awful horrible work days. UGGH. So glad it's over. I'm headed to Denver tomorrow for a company yearly kick off party at a swanky hotel.

And the Brit stuff is downright pathetic now. I have no sympathy or pity left for her.

Yeah, french toast isn't my favorite. Though I love the stuffed french toast that they have at IHOP. And I love the butter pecan syrup that they had there. They came out okay. My FIL ate them which is the important part. And I did what Jess suggested and made scrambled eggs out of the extra goo and Jolene ate them. So all in all thanks for the help ladies.
