Good weekend

I am on vacation so the days all run together. But I suppose that today is Saturday since the disney channel ran two episodes of Mickey Mouse.

My family is having some kind of a reunion this coming summer. And part of our family wanted to do it in Santa Cruz California I think because their daughter lives there. Well me and Vinnie plan to drive to AZ for this vacation and really do not want to drive another 10 hours. So I thought this morning that Lake Tahoe might be a good alternative. Has anyone here ever been there?

Anyways, I am off to eat waffles, YAH!!

Shelly, we used to have a ski chalet near Truckee at Lake Tahoe. Absolutely beautiful country, and in the summer you won't have to deal with the windy icy roads. You could probably rent a large chalet at Squaw Valley for the reunion, or if you prefer to be away from everyone, there are tons of charming motels around, and all the amenities you could need in nearby Reno.

I'd most definitely recommend Tahoe as the destination! We stayed on the California side, but it's a very quick drive to Nevada with all the gambling stuff for those so inclined.

Yum, my MIL made blueberry waffles. I love blueberries. Anyways, Kae I think we are looking for a cabin. But I think that its a good option. My dad hates California and doesn't want to spend his hard earned vacation there. Can't say I blame him.

Shelly, if you prefer the Nevada side, Incline Village is lovely, lots of rentals there in summer. Sparks is the town we'd go shopping in for groceries and necessities. It used to be a real hick town, but I'm sure it has changed a lot since then. And there's Carson City really close by if you're up for a more sophisticated evening out.

We've got some wonderful old pictures of our times at Tahoe, but they're all old snaps and I don't have the facilities for getting them online for you. :( The colour of the lake will blow you away. I've never seen anything else like it!

Kae do you know if we can fish in the lake? Or is it strictly for like skiing or whatever?

And Jess my hubby got me a new phone for Christmas too. Its the new Rumor by LG and oh so addicting. Though stinks now because I am not in cell range so I can't truly play til we get home. And argh about your pink eye. I don't think I have had that since I was a child. I hope you get to feeling better. What's with you ladies and being sick.

Thanks for the info on Lake Tahoe, Karen. I guess I googled Lake Tahoe, Arizona and it said only 4 hours and something minutes but I looked and it didn't look like much of a lake. So I googled the town that you mentioned and its a 12 hour drive. No one would agree to that drive. So now I am looking at Lake Havasu and Lake Mead. Hopefully I will find something that people will agree on.

Good Sunday Morning! It's warm and overcast and the garbage truck didn't make it yesterday so the street's a mess. Argh.

Shelly, that's too bad Tahoe is too far away for everyone. You would have liked it a lot. But I can understand not wanting a 14 hour drive. Lake Mead and the Hoover Dam would be fantastic too, majestic and all.

Jessica - my son with the little kids has had pink eye twice in the last few weeks. His doc gave him antibiotic drops and it was cleared up in a day. But he wasn't careful enough washing his hands all the time and it came back. Kids drag home the most disgusting germs.

Our project for the day is taking down parents' decorations from the trees outside their house and packing the lights away in the crawl space under the living room. Everybody hates going in there.

Its pretty gross and gloomy. And yeah, Kae I think that Lake Mead will work out okay too. And I found some cute cabins in Big Bear Cali too. Hopefully people will agree to it.

No plans really. I am already really bored with where I am, and i miss church. I may try and go back to bed for a little bit since Vinnie is up now. I thought I would venture out to Walmart but I am afraid I wont remember how to get back. Maybe I will go out and take some more pictures so you guys can see where I am.

Hey everyone! Shel, I think Tahoe would be a great destination, but too bad it's too far. It's on my list of places to visit. I've made out this list, and everything I want to see, I'm going to attempt to do.
So far, it looks like this:
1. Yellowstone and the Grand Tetons
2. Arches National Park, in Utah
3. Redwood Forest in CA
4. Park City, Utah
5. Rocky Mountain National Park
5. Lake Tahoe
6. Philadelphia
7. Chicago
I also really want to go to Canada at some point too.

Sorry for the pink eye,Jess!

I just got back from Denver, from our company kickoff party. They put us up in the Grand Hyatt in Downtown Denver. It was very nice. I was going to meet up with Brandon, but it just didn't work out.

well of the places you have listed there I can say that Chicago is nice. Though it is a really huge city with really crappy traffic.

I don't know what my list consists of, though I want to at some point I want to see every state.

Oh and by the way, Brandon came to the board to post spoilers but couldnt stop in and say hi, whats up with that.

And has anyone heard anything from our missing John?

Shelly are you home now?

I'd love to go to Northern California. I have an aunt that wants to move to Arizona not sure if I could handle that much heat

Chicago is a great place to visit, but too much congestion. I'd like to live by a city the size of Atlanta
