It was an early start today but I'm still not in gear to tackle much other than the everyday stuff. I think the Y&R episode coming up today is a repeat as there was a weird feed last Friday with 2 different episodes aired, so I'm a bit confused.

We had a nice evening yesterday with my parents and Mike for dinner, then sat up watching news until midnight.

There was a shooting on the main street of town - a totally innocent bystander caught a bullet some thug has intended for a bouncer that tossed him out of a club. The poor man was dead in an instant. Our son Mike was walking home from a late night gig at the same time, half a block away. He was pretty upset to say the least. I've asked Mike to reconsider his location and buy a loft nearby, directly across from a subway station. He used to snort and tease me that it was too dull around here. Not last night! I think he may reconsider where he lives, which is smack in the middle of lots of late night carry-ons. He has only a five minute walk to his office there, but a twenty minute subway ride might be worth it to at least stay alive.

That's just horrible. I swear it seems as if these horrible things are happening more and more frequently now. Apparently there was another suicide in town over the weekend or something. My grandma was telling me about it. The man called his friend who immediately called 911. The poor police offers who responded, saw him shoot himself through the window as they were pulling up. I mean it's just awful. It was that darn close.

that is just terrible. I told you guys about how we were at the Burger King in Virginia Beach this past August when they had a drive by shooting. My heart went into overdrive because Jo and my niece were both outside playing.

Anyways, Jess. In the case of the guy by you I kind of think maybe he waited til he saw the police pull up and then shot himself.

You know Shelly I never thought of that possibility. I just felt horrible for the cop. We know most of them around here. It's a smaller town and I've either gone to school wiht some of them, my husband has, or we have somehow come to know them. In fact all of the teens and young adults used ot hand out on "the square" lol. It's really so very lame, but we all thought it was cool, and every night especially during the summer, the cops would walk around the square to make sure there wasn't any mischief ensuing. So the good kids who never had much to worry about with being arrested and all would eventually befriend them... especially the girls cuz some of those cops were smokin hot lol. ... anyways I just felt bad for the cop who had to see it.

OOOOOkkkk off of the blah and depressing junk ... yuck!

OH and Kae ... if you've read Lainey today ... how do you like Brit's new accent?

I feel sorry for the cop too, thats kind of why whatever drove this guy to think that life wasn't worth living he couldn't have been more selfish in ending his life in front of a total stranger. I understand that some people are overcome with grief, but this guy called his friend knowing that his friend would send help over and then killed himself the second said help arrives. Annoys me a little.

If you scroll down on Lainey's main page to her links, and click on TMZ, you'll see that K-Fed has shown up in court but not Britney. What a mess that girl has made, non? As for the "British" accent she's faking, isn't this just more evidence that the girl needs to be taken away? Completely cracked.

Best part of the celebrity gossip today is the general consensus that Katie Holmes has been taken over by the cult of Xenu. I liked Katie, think she's a very pretty girl. But it looks like she sold her soul.

Yeah i agree I think she's just an empty child bearing shell now lol. However did you see the mention that Tom wants her to have another child and she's reissting.. maybe there's hope. Her parents could possibly wisk her away and get her into one of those deprogrammers.

Brit's totally lost it. I just don't understand the girl one single bit. Someone needs to wisk her off to someone who can fix her programming lol. I jsut dont' get why she didn't show up.

I think that Britney's dad is the only person in her life besides her sister who really only wants to help Britney. It seems that everyone else in her life is only out for themselves. I feel for her but wish she would listen to someone. I wish that she could manage to care that she has lost her kids.

Oddly enough I think Kevin kinda cares at least as much as he can lol. Maybe he knew what was going on with her and that's why he went for sole custoday and it wasn't one hundred percent money .

Brit doesn't care about her kids. I don't think there's any other way to put it. I have seen zero evidence of her being a decent, let alone good, parent to those little boys. They were accessories and she doesn't need them for attention now. She gets plenty of that from her idiotic antics.

I just don't know about her. I really don't. I don't understand how she can just be so whatever about her children. I mean even if I was whacked outta my mind my kids would still be front and center. Then at the same time, I wonder well is she just selfish or is that what she was taught, or is she totally schyzophrenic? The pain in the ass of it all is that there are too many people making money off of her to just slap her in the face and tell her about herself, and I honestly think she needs that badly. Everyone jumps to her beck and call, and when someone fails to do so she throws a tizzy.

She's obviously spoiled. Jamie Lynn is going to end up in the same exact shoes if someone doesn't muzzle her quickly. It's ovious that the maternal instinct isn't dominant in the family. Honestly I would love to get my hands on her and just tell her all what's what. I mean for crying out loud a chimp could parent better than she. I was 15 when I had Cody and still managed to figure it out. Gees Louise!

Oh and the court thing .. she shows up but doesn't go in... puhhlease! I say for right now let K-Fed be a father to them. I think he'd like for her to change, but knows it will never happen. He was married to the woman and if you ask me if she was anything like this when he was married to her, he's earned a free ride. I wish all the best for the guy and maybe one day he'll be able to snag a good woman to have as a strong influence in those boys' lives becasue they are going to have some serious trust issues when it comes to women.
