Its actually not cold here, mid 30's. If people in Arizona knew that I referred to mid-30's as not cold they would flip. Anyways, spent the morning trying without luck to find a book shelf for Jolene'r room that I wouldn't have to put together. Didn't find one that wasn't crazy expensive so I got this cute one that looks like a doll house. I just have to put it together, something Im not looking forward too. Oh well, at least I know where Vinnie's tool bag is.
Not doing much else. Vinnie should be coming home a week from tomorrow and I am really wanting to get this place organized before then.
Just got home from a whole buncha little errands, last one being a stop at a favourite cafe for some take home dinner that I'll warm up later - chicken cutlets, mixed roasted veggies and potatoes and some marinated red peppers. Yum.
It's minus 3 and sunny - gorgeous day. The best part is that it's still light out at 4:58 p.m. All 3 of my kids are having a rough patch of life right now, and it's hard watching them go through it all. Two are overworked with too many responsibilities and my Nick, the one in Oz, is having a hard time dealing with the end of his year away and the realities of coming home in April. His girlfriend actually made application for permanent residence/immigration status and was denied by the Australian government. I smell trouble in paradise.
P.S. Shelly, did you try Ikea? Everything needs assembly, but it's idiot-proof. I know because I've done it myself.
Yeah, denied! Probably the unemployment rate in Oz has something to do with it. Her employer made the application for her and was told by the government to rescind the offer of permanent employment, so she's also out of a wonderful job.
If my live-in partner had made application to stay half way around the planet, I'd be taking a pretty close look at the relationship's future, non? This can''t be easy on my son. Or maybe there's more to it he hasn't told me.....like that he's also planning to return to set up shop down there for good. He said he's looked into graduate school there.
