Finally, some sunshine! Quell relief! But oh so cold and windy. I threw out some bread crusts and almonds on the front porch this morning for the little furry creatures and a wee grey mouse scampered up. So cute, as long as it stays outside.
We're having a tea party this afternoon, shopping for halogen light fixtures for the family room, picking up my parents at 2:30. Having cucumber cream cheese sammies, some PB&J for Vanessa, strawberries and clotted cream, lots of tea, Earl Grey and Darjeeling.
What's up with you? Oh, Jess, is this the birthday party for Aiden today at your mom's house? Have fun!
Just 6 of us today. My d-i-l has a book club meeting at 3, so she takes the baby with (nursing him) and Tony will come over with Vanessa, my parents, Ted and me. It's an opportunity for my parents to interact with their great granddaughter, for Vanessa to spend time out with her daddy alone, without baby brother stealing her thunder, lol. My mom and dad don't see the little kids all that often, so this is a great way for them to visit. And it gets me out of having to cook a big family Sunday dinner. Since we'll be having a light meal at 4, Ted and I will just have a bowl of soup around 8, watch the Grammys on TV.
Tina, I never had a problem with my kids when a new baby came along either, but it was an era of playpens, cribs, swings, high chairs, all those helpful baby devices. No such helpers now. Tres passe and NOT to be used. Argh. I'd have gone nuts.
Sniffle sniffle my post didn't work lol. Yeah Christine today is Aiden's Birthday Party at my mom. I can't believe it. We've been so busy this weekend. We had a birthday party for my cousins little girl yesterday. The kids had a blast swimming.
Thanks for the tangerine oil idea Kae. Might I add that I am now officially kicking my sinus infection ... yup just like that. I used some salt, hydrogen peroxide and hot hot water. I was supposed to use an eye dropper bottle but I'm all out and the guys used to van for church, and I wasn't about to throw out my eye medicine lol. So I just used a few q tips to drip it in my nose. It stung alittle bit, but that was supposed to happen and I'm already feeling better. It's so great. I am probably going to have to do it again in a few hourse because I know I didn't get as much in my sinuses as I wanted .. kids climbing me lol. I also used some on Aiden's ear he hasn't tugged at it since ok so it's only been 10 minutes but I'm an optimist lol.
well t sounds like everyone is having a good weekend. Its chilly here, the sun has come out though it doesn't look like it will stay long. I have been having a hard time sleeping lately so I think I may go off and try a nap. I could never live in Seattle. We have had little else but clouds for like a week and a half and it is miserable.
Jess I hope that the party turns out okay. And Jojo I hope your driver does good. I can't handle nascar and am going to escape to the bedroom.
yeah, I will never understand the thrill of watching cars drive in circles. When I married Vinnie I hated football. Now not so much. Still hate Nascar.
and Damn Tina that is too cold. We got a wee bit of the white stuff but not enough to get excited about. Just enough to make the roads crazy. We have actually ha a mild winter compared with the rest of the world. Now I am off to get everything ready for the rest of the week. Had a not so good day diet wise. Still haven't had soda yet though and its not as easy as it sounds. Next I need to give up coffee.
I used to think the same way. Now, I see why that argument makes little sense. After watching a season full of races last season, there is an excited that I don't get even when I'm watching football. It's the potential for crashes, the race for the lead...so exciting!!
yeah, I guess I have too much ADD to be able to sit still and watch cars drive in an oval, the fact that its not a circle makes little difference for me. I just can't do it
