We watched the whole darn thing. Hated Nicole Kidman's barf of bling. Anne Hathaway looked very weird, but can't put my finger on it. Tilda's dress was ugly, ugly, ugly.
Coen brothers - ugh. They could have at least acted somewhat honoured. And I was really disappointed that Walrus didn't win.
Jess, I don't think Johnny stood a chance up against DDL, but it would have been nice, I agree.
My jaw dropped when I saw Nicole Kidman's get-up! She's always so gorgeous, but that necklace just looked bizarre with her dress. What was she thinking?
Speaking of not thinking, WHY in the world did they have Penelope Cruz immediately follow Nicole on stage? Did they not remember that Tom left Nicole for her? What a tasteful choice for them to have made (rolls eyes)... Hopefully, they weren't also seated next to each other at some pre-event dinner party!
I did enjoy Jon Stewart. I thought that he handled himself very well, was gracious (especially to the one woman who initially didn't get a chance to say a proper thank you before being escorted off the stage), and was also very funny. All in all, I rather liked this year's ceremony, even though I hadn't seen many of the movies.

I agree Moore Jon was great and that really was sweet. Kae I must agree Johnny didn't stand a chance .. but damn I'd have loved to have seen him up there lol. Oh well, I'll just have to settle with watching one of my Jonny flicks tonight. I think he really does deserve an award sometime lol. I kinda knew Sweeny Todd wouldn't get it for him. I kinda thought George Clooney might pull one out of nowhere. I figured it would be either him or DDL. George is a man's man lol and it's like everyone loves him.
I think everyone was just escatic for Marion. I figured either she or Ellen would get it, but Ellen was so young that I figured Marion had a better chance. Diablo Cody was a great surprise. I loved Juno but never would have thought they would have chosen her. That was just awesome and she seemed to be just dumb founded and so happy. I love the joke Jon made about the pay cut from stripping to writing. I would have loved to see her in something a bit more glamorous, but on the same hand I don't think she's that kinda person, and I doubt she has all of the designers trying to get her to wear their gowns.
I loved Tilda's interviews and how she decided to get George back for all of his pranks at the best place .. the Oscars. Really most of the night though was kinda blah. I skipped through a lot and most of the speeches.
OH and my favorite dress .. hmmm it's tough. I'm really not sure. I think I liked Renee Zellweger's dress. I'm not a fan of the rest of her, but the dress was gorgeous.
For those who care, but not enough to access Lainey's site, here are her caustic, as usual, remarks on her first hand experiences at last night's big hoopla.
