I don't usually, but this morning I checked the user's list to see who'd been around, and guess what? We had one guest from China and another from the Ukraine!! On this little board!! On our obscure, practically private, tiny little message board. Who ever would have thought that would happen?
Anyway, we were awakened before 7 by the phone - the contractor, who is really starting to tick me off. He's not coming. We got up and shovelled the snow. Lots of it. Depressing, heavy, heavy snow. And more to come until the weekend. And now the cars are completely covered again.
What's up kids? Anybody know who those visitors could have been? I mean, China and the Ukraine?? Sheesh. Bran, you'll probably know something about that, non?
That's kind of odd. Maybe someone doing some searching or potentially the board is reporting that visitor from the wrong country too. The second one sounds like it'd be much more accurate to me.

I'm trying to get rid of some throat/chest "thing" that surfaced this past weekend, even though I was already on antibiotics! I suppose that it could be a low-grade virus, but it "feels" like it's related to all that dust and stuff that surrounded me in my friend's basement. So, I don't know, but it has been majorly annoying!
Otherwise, it's a quiet day. My next doll club meeting is on March 19th, and our annual spring exhibit has to be hung on April 1st. I suddenly realized that a have a freakin' huge amount of sewing to do in preparation for that! We've decided not to have an opening reception this year, but our display is also being coordinated with some quilters, so they're going to have the reception instead. (The name of their club is "Quilts and Chocolate" -- named for their two favorite things, and I think that it's a great name! LOL...)
I just ordered a bunch of new doll patterns from one favorite website (owned by two of our club members), and am now exploring another favorite site for lots of baubles... That's always the fun stuff. Oh, yeah -- and books. I'm embarrassed to admit this, but my "wishlist" is forty pages long! This just means that I need to diminish that by actually ordering stuff, and not just stick it on my wish list. Right? RIGHT...??? (A woman's thinking!)
My next task is to explore my sewing room, which was left in a mess after my last burst of sewing energy, to figure out what goodies already exist in there. Spring cleaning time!
That's about it for me.
PS -- I decided to attach a picture of a doll whose picture I just submitted for the newsletter where we're hanging the show. This was made by one of our best dollmakers about a year ago, and her face is entirely hand beaded. She's fairly large too -- 36 inches! Anyway, I had to create a background for her so that it looked right for publication, and forwarded it yesterday afternoon. She'll be one of the dolls displayed...
Moore, all sorts of moulds live in old things, and diving into a pile of them could very easily have been the reason your chest thing came back. Two nights ago, Ted and I went through hundreds of old books downstairs (I've wanted them out of the house for years) and afterwards I was totally stuffed up. There's even a respiratory disease named for librarians who often suffer from having to deal with old books every day.
I really do believe that the basement cleaning project had a lot to do with this. I've noticed in the past that I'm fairly susceptible to these things, and that basement was nasty. I was given the task of going through a cedar closet, filled with old clothes (and I mean OLD clothes) that needed to be folded, and boxed.
Thank you for the comment about the doll. Lee is one of our most amazing dollmakers; everything she touches is perfect. She, and several other of our club members, took a class with the designer of this doll, and they each made one. We're going to line one of the walls with their results. It's the ONE class that I didn't sign up for, and I still regret it. You ought to see this doll "in person". As you said -- WOW.

Gabi had swimming today, she did better than last week.... less tears!
Then we went to McDonald's with tunnels.
I've been reading this Alanon book, My mother was raised by an alcoholic and never went into recovery so it's very likely she passed down some traits to me, as though I was actually raised by an alcoholic.
All very interesting stuff.
And I'm not looking at this in a negative light, it's more like "Oh now I see why I always felt like something was crazy" And now I can fix it.
I talked with a psychologist and he strongly recommends Alanon. I would recommend it to everyone. I think we all have areas of our lives we could turn over to a higher power.
One thing that caught my attention today is that the most important accomplishment we can make is to just love ourselves
Moore that doll is amazing. I couldn't imagine having the kind of patience that would be needed for a project like that. And i hope you manage to kick that throat thing soon.
Weird about the visitor thing, I wish that some of our members would visit more. I understand that Sophia is busy but just to know that she is okay. And does anyone ever hear from John? Wow, our long lost visitors. At least Herbst is posting more again. Today I did house keeping at work, was a bit disapointed to learn that Hilary did so well yesterday.
I don't know I have been posting this address anytime something asks for my home page. That could also kind of contribute to it. I did post it on a few things when I was searching into the Edison Chen thing. It was a mainly mandarin page so maybe someone was intersted.
