Firday March 7th... It's been so dead lately

Hey everyone. Is it just me or has this place been a bit dead?

I'll be in and out today. My mom's in a funk because first her very best friend's brother lost his battle with cancer the other day, and then yesterday her other friend's father died. Honestly he had been in a vegetable state for years now. He was technically gone a while back.

Either way I'm dragging her out today.

This place has been dead lately. We need more to talk about. Sad that the one soap that we all use to watch and we met each other because we watch I really don't think that any of us watch anymore. Now I don't think there is a show that all of us watch.

Anyways, I am at work. The sun was out earlier but it has been scared behind some clouds and its gloomy out again. We had "spring" like weather today but the weather man threatened that it wouldn't last and the damned guy was actually right. Anyways, I have just a little bit left here today. Got the new SOD, nothing new really. Though I think that they might actually kill off Bo on Days.

Had a super stressful day so far. It's quiet now, snow storm just hit us, the one moving up from New England and another coming in eastward from Alberta - a double whammy. Oh joy.

Yeah, Jess, it has been really quiet around here. We don't talk soaps much for some reason, and I miss that. I've even gone back a little to watching OLTL when I can stand it. TSJ has pretty much ruined it for me, though. I haven't been able to take him for the longest time. And my Nora dislike has kicked into high gear again. I liked her much better before when she was in a coma, lol.

Edited to add - Hi Shelly! You posted while I had started mine and I just saw it. I've got my Y&R recording on now. Looks like an okay epi.

I was out hitting the clearance racks again~ I can't believe I never even looked before. So I got 2 pairs of shoes for me, a shirt for Ryan and a dress for me for $5!! Super cute dress.

We had lunch out and I just got back, so tired, and I have to get Zach from school now. I'll stop by later and think of some new subjects we can discuss!

Just getting back in and I have a mess to clean lol. I called the local pet shelters to see if they have any stray kitties. There aren't many right now she said but there will be soon considering the season.

The kids are kinda getting spoiled for Easter. I've felt so bad for them considering the whole Maggie issue lol. I got Cody a nice new coat for 9.00. I couldn't pass that deal up. I was going to save it for next year but he liked it and I figure he'll use it. I also got him 3 shirts, a toy, and oh gees soemthing else but now I don't remember.

Beth is getting a Hannah Montanna shirt and matching hat, a light up ball, Ugh this is horrible I've forgotten already. Oh yeah a yellow Easter Bonnet and purse.

Aiden is getting 2 shirts and a bath toy.

I splurged on myself and got a new wallet and the Blake Lewis CD today lol.

RE: Friday March 7th... It's been so dead lately

KaeEll, I'm sorry that you've had such a stressful day!

It has been pouring rain here, all day long, and will be doing the same thing tomorrow. I had to run some errands, so I had to brave the nastiness. Otherwise, it was very cozy.

My youngest daughter's 20th birthday is tomorrow!!! We're missing her a lot because she's all the way out there in Arizona, and not here with us to celebrate. It's quite a good feeling to finally leave one's teens behind, and enter the next decade. She's very excited about it...

RE: Firday March 7th... It's been so dead lately

Thanks for your condolences, Moore. Here's what happened, lol. (NOW I can laugh.)

It started out by me sleeping in until 9, had to be out the door by 10:15. Maria (cleaning lady) hadn't turned up yet. Ted, bless his heart (not really) decided to work from home today and while I was in the shower, decided that today he would finally take the area rug out of our bedroom, something I had been asking him to do since Christmas. Well, in order to do that, he had to take the bed apart. He leaned the box spring up against the bathroom door, then went to his office downstairs to print up a document, got distracted and forgot about me stuck upstairs in the bathroom. Tick tock, tick, tock, He finally came up, moved the carpet out, then put the mattress up against my closet where I keep all my clothes. He then went back downstairs to take a phone call.

You know, men can be so dumb sometimes. I know he meant well....

Anyway, I was late picking up my mother. Their driveway was a sheet of ice, took me ten minutes to find their salt stash, another ten to get her in the car and buckled up, roads a mess, no parking space at all in the little plaza where the spa is, parked far away. The one handicapped parking space was taken too.

When I got home, Maria had put the bedroom back together again according to her tastes (not a good thing). Ted was still in his dressing gown, five messages on the phone as he ignored beeps. Maria broke the vacuum and the dogs had pooped on the clean floor - upset by the moving furniture, no doubt.

I just kind of had a melt-down. I chugged some rescue remedy and made a cup of tea. Am okay now, just tired.

Moore, I know how you feel about daughter's BD. I hate it when we can't celebrate with the kids.

Oh, man. I would have been FURIOUS if I'd been blocked in the bathroom by a huge mattress! That's when you want to have your cell phone handy, and call the husband to say, "Get your fanny up here, and move the ******* mattress!!!"

Ice stresses me out just all by itself, so I can relate to that too.

The rest of it on top of everything else? Yeah, you had a bad day!

It never occurred to me to take my phone into the bathroom, lol. Who'd have expected THAT? If the doggies hadn't been sniffing and whining for me on the other side of the box spring, I might have just pushed the damn thing over, but was afraid of hurting them.

Time to make dinner. I'm looking forward to a glass of wine tonight, I'll tell ya!

Have a great weekend all.

Jess, Lainey has eliminated more "Wrong Colour" people. I am stumped!! Any guesses? I was relieved that Kelly Clarkson wasn't the girl. I've always liked her.

I like her too. I'm confused too. I was thinking maybe Avril .. ??? Did she rule out any of the big timers like Aretha or ohhh what about Shania. Faith Hill? I couldn't find any info on who was touring right now. There's also Fergie, Gwen, Pink, Natasha Bedingfield, OH Jill Scott has a CD on the top 100 right now too. Has Sheryl Crow been ruled out?

you guys have my curiousity piqued on the Lainey thing..I may have to finally sign up. One of you guys should just post a link for us to look at whenever something like this comes up.

Kae I am sorry you had such a rough friday. I hope that you had a good glass of wine. Last night I talked Vinnie into going to Outback for dinner. They have this celebration thing going on and had really good dishes. So I had a great ribeye steak and remembered why I dislike ribeye steaks. I don't like all that fat, I like to be able to just cut into a steak and eat it without cutting the fat off (I know some people eat that stuff, my husband does.) I would have rather have had the same rub put onto a NY.

Anyways, I found a weight watchers recipe for both meatloaf and mashed potatoes so I am going to try them this weekend. Also found a recipe for gumbo that is only a few points. Sounds good to me.
