Hey all, how are ya all doing. I am good but have to get a CT scan today to determine why I get sinusitis like 6 times a year. I have never had a CT scan so it should be interesting. Good news is I have little else to do today. And i have a book for the doctors office.
Where is Kae lately. I don't think she popped in at all yesterday. I hope she is well and that the snow isn't too terrible. They mentioned that dirty snow word this morning when I dropped Jo off at day care.
Whats on the agenda ladies (and Brandon and Herbst)?? Anything fun and exciting?
Shelly, I have had more CT scans than I can count! About a year and a half ago, I had a bizarre problem that was really disconcerting, and no one could figure out why. I guess it wasn't much of anything, or I'd probably be dead by now, but in the meantime, I had at least a half dozen CT scans.
There's absolutely nothing to it; you'll slide through a small, very open donut-shaped machine, and you won't feel at all confined. It's the MRIs that put you in the tube...
Sometimes, a CT scan is done just on its own, sometimes they'll have you drink a special fluid, and sometimes they'll inject you with a dye. It all depends on what they're looking for. I have no idea if they'll use a dye to look at the sinuses, but it's really very simple.
Good luck!

Good luck Shelley. I believe you will do very well. It's not at all scary. I had it done once. i had to drink the cool aid junk. I doubt you will though becuase mine was for my stomach area. Am kinda tired today. Styed up late fixing the hair.
] Sounds like a busy day Tina. I hope all goes well today
Shelly, I had a CT scan once and if you're the least bit anxious about it, ask for a valium before it. But it's nothing to worry about.
I'm taking today off. Sunday and Monday were nutsy busy with my d-i-l and the kids. Tony's away in Calgary again, all week this time, and my d-i-l's mother, who was supposed to drive here from Boston to help her daughter, didn't come for some reason. Then we had to deal with my parents' on-going battle with their security company, ended up going over there last night to remove the electronic gadgets from the walls and doors, package them all up and courier them back to the company.
Have you kids been reading about the Face Book controversy? A university here (Ryerson) is threatening to expel (for cheating) some students that use a page for homework help, while the students claim it's no different from a study group. Should prove interesting. Wow, the internet really has changed everything, non?
Sunny today, as was Sunday and Monday. Nature is apologising to us for dumping all that snow, but it's just a tease. More snow tonight as another Alberta Clipper is on its way.
KaeEll, I hadn't heard about the Facebook controversy, but it sounds like a very interesting debate. (Stressful for the kids and their families right now, though!)
Somehow, I'm not sure that I would consider their online discussions cheating, anymore than a study group would be (as they apparently point out), or doing online research. How is that cheating? Carrying papers into an exam is cheating, and looking at someone else's answers in the moment is cheating, and plagiarizing papers is cheating, but how are online discussions and/or research cheating???
Very interesting...

I agree with both of you. WIth the hectic and crazy demands students have right now, it's no wonder they've resulted to "online study groups". I think it's great. No way is it cheating. Last year my drama prof actually encouraged the same thing and set up a spot on blogspot for us to do it.
On our local noon news, CTV Talk Back Toronto, 90% of those voting said NO cheating! I think that's the going to be the outcome of the debate too.
Anyone watching OLTL live today? I have it on now, but don't know how long I'll last.
I'm picking up Ted at 4 and we're off YET AGAIN to Home Depot. This contractor is a pain in the butt! But Ted really loves his carpentry and doesn't want to burn him off. He still hasn't started the work and Nick will be back exactly one month today. Argh!! I so resent having to run around picking out hinges and knobs when the contractor ought to be doing this, but apparently he doesn't! What the heck is he getting paid for? Looking good??? (He is adorable, but knows it. Arrogance is, as Lainey would say, a quiveration-killer, lol)
Yes it certainly is. Which is why my loins will forever quiver for Johnny! Damn that Vanessa Paradis!!!!
I have created a jelly bean monster. As I've mentioned Aiden likes to climb up on the computer desk and help mommy. Well, I had som jelly beans yummy hawaiian punch jelly beans, sitting out by the mouse and someone loves snagging mommy's lil loc cal treats. Now he's amonster. a littl cute nose getting monster.
Well its nice to see you Kae, I hope that you had a good day off. My CT scan was uneventful. The good news is that I was out of the hospital not 10 minutes after my appointment started. I hate waiting so that is good news for me. Thanks for the encouragement ladies. I actually really hope they find something, I am tired of being on antibiotics all the time.
Well I am watching GH, slept right through OLTL. I ended up doing part of the third shift at the hotel Sunday so that I could learn how the audit is done and now my sleep cycle is so messed up. I had wanted to do the gym this week but now I am too tired.
I know exactly what you mean! There's hardly anything more frustrating than to have an ongoing problem, and have it remain a mystery, even after various tests, and medications. You just want to have an answer, and go from there.
