Wednesday

Hi all! Another mid-week is upon us, and Nick will be home in 17 days!! The contractor finally turned up and will be here Friday morning, 5 weeks late. I'm so unimpressed.

I was reading Lainey this morning and feel a little sick about some of her remarks. Is Lainey getting meaner than usual? Are things really as debauched in Hollywood as she implies? I'd taken a break from her for a few weeks and when I went back this morning, maybe it was just the shock value of it, but uck. Jess, check out the comments about Whoopi on The View yesterday implying that "O" had gone under the knife. I'm no fan of Oprah in any way, but that comment was very suspicious and a little sinister the way she had to stop talking as if there would be unpleasant repercussions for her had she continued. Does "O" have that much sway???

I've got laundry, some parents' stuff and helping d-i-l at the end of the day. What's up with you kids today?

That's cool. Glad to hear he'll be back. You should read my when news isn't news post to see how I feel about entertainment news these days Kae.

I ran to Walmart, I need a replacement pot for the coffee maker. Seems I can only get it online but th shipping cost is as much as the actual pot!!

I should do something Fun with the kids, but it's so much easier to stay home. I hate traffic, crowds and spending money for stupid things, and we have food here. So I hate to waste money on Pizza at Chuck E Cheeses.

Wish my husband wasn't on-call this week, he could hve take one day off and we could drive up to the museums. I no longer like to drive up to Chicago on my own....

I'm in the middle of three books, maybe I'll try to finish one.

I'd really, really like that Amazon Kindle!!

Tina, it's hardly in the spirit of conservation, but it's been my experience that buying a new pot for the coffee maker is just as expensive, sometimes more, than buying a whole new gadget. We finally gave up on those exotic coffee makers and bought a cheapy little number that makes a great pot of coffee, all for less than $25. The replacement pot for the old one would have been $45. Go figure.

we have a Bunn, it runs about $96 because it keeps the water hot all the time. My mom bought it for me, otherwise I'd have a cheapo.

The replacement pot is $9, but shipping is $7. So I was hoping to find something that would fit from Walmart.

I'll try Target next.

So Gabi has a friend over and so does Zach, cool for me!!

KaeEll, I'm glad to know that your contractor finally made an appearance -- the wretch!

My husband is home today, and I'm going to take him to the doctor. He was all dressed for work and about to walk out the door, but then sat down on the couch, and looked a little peculiar. He is NEVER one to go to bed, but he told me that he's having some weird pain in his stomach, but he didn't think that it was an emergency. He's been sleeping, and I can't tell you how unusual that is. I'm worried...

He has an appointment at 3:00 pm, so hopefully our doctor will be able to determine what's going on very shortly.

Is he running a temperature?

Nope. No temperature. Just a pain that came on suddenly, and won't go away... Not quite like an ulcer either. He says that it's a "strange" pain. We're going to leave here in just a few minutes...

Oh, Moore. So sorry about the hub's unwellness. Let us know how it turns out. Good thoughts your way.

I now have sick Mike at home here, picked him up an hour ago, took him to the doctor - virus he has to ride out. I made him some veg soup and a nice cup of tea. He's nestled in Nick's room. So much for having it all cleaned up for Nick's return, lol.

I have OLTL on but can't get into it. Anything worth looking at?

I watched on and off, nothing worth getting in to today!

Adrianna is edgier, maybe she would have been watchable if she'd been this way all along.

She's not so nice to Gigi. The rest was all boring!
