Greg Nelson's Pine Valley Homecoming Posted Saturday, April 12, 2008 11:00:33 AM by Dan J Kroll
Laurence Lau (Greg Nelson) is the latest "legacy character" return to All My Children. The actor, who was part of a wildly popular 1980s on-screen pairing with Kim Delaney (Jenny Gardner), returns for a handful of episodes next month.
Laurence Lau (Greg Nelson) returns to All My Children next month, marking the first time the actor will step into his former role since leaving the show in 1986. During that time, Lau was one-half of one of the ABC's soap's most popular couple.
"Greg and his sweetheart, Jenny Gardner [played by Kim Delaney], were one of AMC's greatest love stories: He the privileged boy next door, she the girl from the wrong side of the tracks," says an All My Children spokesperson.
It's been nearly 22 years since Greg last set foot in Pine Valley, but Lau has kept himself busy. The actor appeared as Sam Rappaport on One Life to Live from 2001 to 2003. He also enjoyed a four-year run on NBC's Another World, tackling the role of Jamie Frame from 1986 to 1990. Lau's work has not been limited to daytime television. He has guest-starred in numerous primetime television series, including Frasier and Law and Order.
Lau's alter-ego returns to Pine Valley to catch up with his friend, Jesse and Angie Hubbard.
"Greg returns to Pine Valley in the midst of a life altering event for Jesse and Angie--something that will change Tad, Jesse and Angie's lives forever," a show spokesperson says cryptically.
Lau's brief return begins on May 20th

I'm looking forward to this. I always liked Lawrence Lau as Greg Nelson (not quite so much as Sam Rappaport), and his addition to the AMC cast will be a welcome one by many!
I have to say that I think AMC has been much better lately, due largely to the return of Angie and Jesse. It's as though someone has FINALLY listened to posters' rants about wanting AMC to hold true to its history, and that they love their veteran actors and characters.

I liked Greg and yes he and Jenny were awesome! Can't wait to see him. I always thought perhaps he and Liza would finally hook up. Maybe she will come back to town as well, after all she hasn't seen Colby in a while!
I didn't like LL as Sam on OLTL either. He was too young looking for the role, particularly following the Cale Brown (sp?) portrayal. But I liked the Jenny and Greg story very much. Maybe it's time for me to give AMC another try.
Interesting that soaps are getting the message that pandering to teenage girls isn't the ticket to high ratings.
Sam and Blair had a thing, non? It's when Lindsay shot him dead, under the evil influence of was it Mitch? Wasn't Sam in bed with Blair when he was killed? But not doing the busy business, just for comfort.
