It's about 9:30 this morning, and we're waiting to hear from Nick from the airport. He took a red eye economy flight overnight from Los Angeles and Atlanta, and should be arriving any minute now. We spoke on skype Monday night as he was staying at a hostel in San Francisco, said he just got back from wandering around Haight Ashbury, "where the old hippies used to hang out".
The contractor just called to tell me that the sales rep that was taking care of my limestone counter top for the bathroom is no longer with the company, and my order had to be re-entered. Murphy's Law??
Gabi has swimming lessons, then we have to stop by the library and we usually have lunch at McDonald's because of the tunnels.
It's a treat for the girls since they (my neighbor's daughter and Gabi) are doing well at swimming.
I have to iron today too, so maybe I'll catch the shows.
This weekend my husband and I are going away for our anniversary (8) to Sheboygan Wisconsin. It's supposed to be really nice, lots of little shops. But it's going to be a chilly weekend. good thing our bed and breakfast has a nice fireplace in each room!
I have a bit of school work to catch up on since I was away all weekend. Have 2 papers due tonight and still have a lot to do with both of them.
Got the paperwork for graduation so that is exciting. I only get 4 guest passes so its good that none of my family will be able to be there.
I also found a small patio set at the local grocery store that I want to go pick up. My birthday is on the 30th so on the 3rd of the month I want to have a Surf and Turf type cookout since the weather is just awesome right now. So I need to get this table and chairs before then. If any of you guys have any cool menu ideas please let me know, wanted to do steak and shrimp but that would get expensive.
Tina, my d-i-l's uncles and aunts live in Sheboygan and they have a cottage at Elkhart Lake nearby. My son and his family go there every summer and love it. D-i-l even bought her wedding dress at a little shop in town. Great shopping there!
Well, Nick is home. He was in the house all of about 10 minutes when he announced that he is moving out to share a condo with a buddy, TOMORROW, and Europe is off because of it. I am beyond sad.
The condo is down on The Lakeshore, about 12 minutes from here by car, so it's not too far away at all.. (I've stopped blubbering enough now to think straight.)
Nick said that Tony offered him a job at Fieldco Internet Services, Tony's company. It's taken off like mad lately, so that part is good. Mike will be working there for a few weeks this summer as well.
I was just hoping that Nick would be around for a little while. I didn't expect this shock, lemme tell ya.
KIDS!!! The bigger they are, the worse it gets. Little kids, little problems; big kids, HUGE heartaches.
I've got to get out of the house for a while. Talk to you guys later. And thanks for helping me put this in perspective, Thank you tons. It really helped.
