2 Exits For Next Week

(SoapOperaNetwork.com) -- "General Hospital" says goodbye to two hospital staffers as Natalia Livingston and Seamus Dever exit Port Charles for good.

On Monday, May 5, Emily Bowen-Quartermaine (Livingston) will say her final goodbye to truelove Nikolas Cassadine (Tyler Christopher) as Nikolas' visions of her end after undergoing surgery for a tumor that causes him to hallucinate. Nikolas has been seeing Emily's spirit from time to time since she was maliciously killed off during the Black and While ball in November 2007 by Diego Alcazar (Ignaccio Serrichio).

Livingston joined "General Hospital" in April 2003 as Emily, the adopted daughter of Monica and Alan Quartermaine (Leslie Charleson and Stuart Damon). She took over the role from Amber Tamblyn, who portrayed the character from 1995 to 2001 on the ABC soap. "General Hospital" will present a special montage of Emily's life during the episode as the character meets her heavenly end.

In other news, Seamus Dever's Dr. Ian Devlin is departing "General Hospital" on Tuesday, May 6 as the character takes his last breathe during a battle for the truth with Jason Morgan (Steve Burton). Dr. Devlin is responsible for the shooting of Michael Corinthos (Dylan Cash), son of Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) and Carly Jacks (Laura Wright). The bullet was meant for Sonny but ricocheted and hit Michael in the head instead. The character is currently in a coma and understood to be brain dead.

Dever joined the cast in the recurring role of Dr. Ian Devlin in January 2008. Devlin was a college buddy of Dr. Patrick Drake's (Jason Thompson). His exit doesn't come as a surprise to fans of the soap as the character was written into a corner, which wasn't helped by the 2007-2008 Writer's Guild of America writers strike which lasted for four months (November 5, 2007 to February 12, 2008). The character was most recently providing Nikolas Cassadine with an illegal drug that he promised would help him keep seeing Emily and get rid of his tumor.
