Wednesday

well everyone out East should be getting nice weather today! It was really nice here the past couple, but today is overcast. Hopefully we'll get the rain we need.

Today is Gabi's swimming lesson and then I hope to get to TJ Maxx for this cute bowl type thing that will look good in my living room and be kid safe!

Next Tuesday I go to court regarding child support for my oldest son. His father is the worst kind of dead beat you can imagine. I'm already getting nervous about driving to court because I'm afraid I'll get stuck in traffic... Otherwise can't wait to get it over with.

It's really overcast here today with the promise of much rain later in the day. It's good for the trees and grass, not so much for my hair, lol.

As usual for this time of year, I woke up completely stuffed up and cranky. My son with the kids is sick with yet another case of tonsillitis, is on antibiotics and is flying to NYC this morning for work. He should get the darn tonsils out, but it's a big deal for an adult. Mike leaves for France tomorrow on a 4 o'clock flight, and Nick is still sulking downstairs.

I don't have much planned for the day. I'll stop by the upholstery shop for some fabric samples for that darn Bergere chair in the den that's the wrong colour of green, and for a love seat in the family room. I've been meaning to do this for months now.

I did settle on a den wall colour from Benjamin Moore - Weston Flax, HC 6. It's a soft buttery yellow.

Good luck in court, Tina! It's been a long time coming.

Y&R wasn't on yesterday for some reason. I don't know about today either, but I'll check at 11. I wish they wouldn't mess around with my soap watching habit! Of all the nerve!

I was going to ask you about the paint, KaeEll, and am glad to know what color you ended up with. I'll go visit our own local Benjamin Moore (virtually just around the corner) to get a sample. Maybe it will work in my hallway!

It has been absolutely GORGEOUS down here the past week, and today's temperature should be hovering somewhere around 80 today. I bought some new patio furniture about two weeks ago from Overstock.com, and it arrived in two massive boxes three days ago. My task today is to open those boxes!!! I still need to find a new umbrella for the table, but that shouldn't be a big issue...

Oh, the coffee hasn't kicked in yet. I posted before I mentioned the tonsils... I had mine taken out when I was seventeen (about a month after I graduated from my boarding school) which was "old" to have them out too. I sympathize! The mother of my boyfriend at the time had hers out when she was somewhere around 40, and she didn't enjoy the experience much either.

Tell your son to forget the myth about the ice cream; it isn't what you want. It's cold, but it's also too thick, and tends to get stuck in the back of the throat. At least that was my experience. Jello was great, though, because it melts down to a soothing liquid, and can be swallowed easily. He should also avoid tomato soup because the acidity is a killer back there where everything is trying to heal!

I still have my tonsils but as you guys may remember Jolene had hers out before she was even 2. And its true what they say, she bounced back way faster then most adults i have heard of. The same day she was playing in the little play room the hospital had.

Today is my last class before graduation. So I have to spend much of the day studying for the test. I will be so happy when I am done with school. I will be happier when I get a job.

Yesterday I spent reading a book that ended rather ho hum for me. Was kind of a waste of several hours spent reading it.

The weather here is gorgeous though our housing people decided to make use of it and mow all the yards....no wonder my eyes are itching. I took an allegra this morning too, may need to add a benedryl to it.

Does anyone here watch Rachael Ray? I am thinking of trying her haircut out. I am going to do the works on my hair for graduation. Pamper myself. Anyways, no plans here except for studying.

Not a lot going on here. Kids are playing I start work next week with training. Talked to Phoenix's mom. It was much less painful then I had expected. She's ok with getting a new sitter but hates that she's losing me. Kinda getting a big head lol

Tina, Nick is my son, not Moores, lol. He was sulking until I asked him if he minded if we took him out for dinner another night because his dad has a meeting scheduled for 5 and will be home late, then he perked right up and said "Oh, now I can go to the Honey's cottage earlier, like in an hour!". The Honey's are the family with the son that bailed Nick out of the hospital in Laos and took him to his uncle's in Ko Samui for recuperation. Their youngest son, Michael, has been a friend of Nick's since they met at camp when they were 5 years old.

The Honey's cottage is on Lake Joseph in Muskoka. It's a series of buildings all nestled into the rocky shoreline surrounded by white pines and birches. It used to be accessible only by water until a winter road was built a few years ago, making it so much easier getting in supplies.

I don't know what the heck the two guys will do up there for a week other than play video games and cook over a fire, but hey, whatever!

He was also in a funk about not going to France with Mike tomorrow. He didn't make enough money at the clothing show for the airfare and hotel while there. Poor baby.

Edited to add: As Nick was leaving, he told me that he and Michael were going north to set up the cottage for the season. The furniture for the dock is in the boathouse, and then they have to bring in the boats from dry dock at the marina. That ought to keep them out of trouble for a few days.

Hey, I want to go to the Honey's cottage too! It sounds wonderfully peaceful. I'll just sit there, and stare at the lake; the guys won't even notice that I'm around...
