Just popping by before my Friday trips begin. What's on the agenda today? After the hair/spa routine, I'm home for a few, will watch my Y&R recording, then baby sitting AGAIN until 5ish, buy salmon and veggies, pick up husband, home for the dinner.
Last night, while out watering, I learned from Miko, the sweetest Japanese lady across the street, that her husband, who I had assumed was deceased, was very much alive, just doesn't DO anything at all. Poor thing! She mows, weeds, shovels, waters, and that lump of hers is there watching television all day and all night. They have a 40 year old son who comes by now and then, but Miko is the only one that ever surfaces from inside their house. In the 7 years we've been here, I have never once seen him!
OMG, KaeEll, your post had me laughing SO hard! How hysterical that you thought for SEVEN YEARS that Miko's husband was DEAD! LOL...!!!
And, I thought that I was reclusive! At least my neighbors know that I'm still among the living, and DO see me out weeding, watering, and coming and going from time to time.

Kae that is amusing about your neighbor. That poor woman having to do all of the work. I think if that was the case with me and Vinnie I would move to an apartment of some kind of place where we don't have to do any of that stuff.
Today I am debating between going to the gym and staying home and doing house stuff. I think I will end up at the gym at some point though since I start work Monday and won't be able to go after that.
Today is a good soap day of AMC watchers, and OLTL I think today is when Blair gets custody of Sam.

That's how it goes for the Japanese, especially once you get up there in age. Men don't really do anything while the women and children do a lot.

Yeah!! I got out of baby sitting but d-i-l is bringing the kids here instead for tea at 3. That gives me a whole hour of peace and quiet to watch my Y&R recording. But picking up Ted from the subway is all of about 2 blocks away from their house, so I'm not really ahead of the game after all. Oh well, at least I can stay home for a couple of hours. And naturally, because I got my hair done, it's raining, lol.
Yep, Bran, I think you're right about the Japanese culture. Poor lady, though, huh? If that guy were my husband, I'd give him a good swift kick in the butt! Good thing I'm not Japanese.
We just have too much going on. Two soccer games this weekend, cuz one is a make up. Ryan performs at the graduation tomorrow, then he's having a birthday party. Turning 15!! His offical bday is Sunday, so probably will meet with the inlaws.
Gabi will be ending swimming soon, and finishing up with ballet but has a rehearsal, pics and recital this month
we're going to see Jersey boys soon!
my husband had a minor surgery and the vicadin made him very mean. If he's ever home sick again, I'll kill him!
It's not just that I had to do everything around the house and baby him, but he's telling me stuff all day, you should do this and you should do that. And then he was really crabby, went off on me one morning. I'm trying to forgive, but it's hard to forget when they say really mean things.
Oh Tina, I understand all too well what you mean about men when they're home sick. My guy loves to micromanage at times. I just let him, then undo what he's done, but quietly. No sense creating WWIII over something they can't help, lol. We have to always be a couple of steps ahead of them, let them believe they are God's gift to the universe. We women all know better, but c'est la vie. ;)
(With humblest apologies to our Brandon and Keith, neither of whom fall under that generalization.)
Tina you make me feel bad for complaining about Vinnie. He isn't mean at all, he is just a big old baby. I don't do well with whiners and when he is sick he does that a lot. Ugh, my heart goes out to you. I pray that everything does get better in your house
