It's finally really nice out up here. I flipped off the AC first thing this morning and opened the windows to catch some of that breeze. It's supposed to stay this way until the weekend, and then it'll be all muggy and hot again.
The phone started ringing around 7:45 this morning - Ted's work, and then the hospital telling him he could go in for an MRA today at 1. That's some kind of test done with dye in the blood vessels. It's been 3 weeks since he had the TIA, about TIME they started getting on with fixing the problem. It's like living under the sword of Damocles. Ugh.
I'm hoping to have a quiet-ish day until later this afternoon when I'll go stay with the little ones until d-i-l is back from running around. The 4 of them are driving to Hanover, NH Thursday afternoon for their college reunion weekend. That's an 8 hour drive with 2 little kids. I'm glad those days are behind me, lol. I think they're breaking it up into 2 days, stopping for the night in Rouses Point, NY, at the top of Lake Champlain.
We got an e mail from our friendly real estate guy this morning telling us the house up the street, the one that has been "empty" for a year, was discovered by the RCMP to be a grow-op house - marijuana. That explains a lot about the peculiar comings and goings we'd all wondered about. I guess it will now be torn down. Crazy world.
Thats crazy about the house down the street. You sure seem to have an entertaining neighborhood. Though would that lower the value on your house? New Hampshire sounds like a fun place to visit. I will head up that way before we move away. I want to make it all the way up to Maine at some point.
I just finished my training but there is not much for me to do just yet. So still free money this week.
I sure am happy to hear that they are finally doing something about Ted, its about darned time.
Lowering the property value is an understatement! It (the grow-op house)is now on the market for lot value, never mind that the previous owner (the ones before the "farmers") put in a new kitchen and new hardwood floors. It shouldn't affect us because we are 8 houses away.
Then there are the morons across the street, the family whose children I call "the whelps". They started a major renovation last August to add a second storey and the place is still a huge construction site mess. I am so sick of looking at it! All winter long their portable outdoor toilet door banged in the wind all night long, every night. During the days, the workers would start unbuckling their pants half way down the walkway to the port-a-pot, and then couldn't latch the door. Great image, huh?
We've wanted to move away from here for the last three years, but the timing isn't right for us yet.
The hospital called again. If Ted is to have the surgery, it will be June 23. If it's a stent, the 24. I feel sick to my stomach just thinking about it, but it has to be done. We have to keep positive, expect only the best results!
