Michael's exhausted because he spent all night reading his grandmother's diary about her disappointment in her son, Lowell, Mike's father. It's Fathers' Day.
Lily and Devon take Neil out for breakfast, notice how down he is. Lily blames herself for chasing Karen away.
Adam brings Heather coffee at her office - she left him a note on his pillow because she had work to do. Father talk - both only learned of their real fathers.
Phyllis, Summer, Nick meet Niki and David for brunch while Victoria visits Victor. He's touched by a photo she gives him as a present, signed by Nicholas and Victoria. Hugs and thanks. She declines Sabrina's invitation to join them for brunch - she has to meet everyone at the club for a family gathering. Victor assures Sabrina that he isn't going to the club because of Niki, not because of her. There's always tension when he and Niki are in the same room and he wants his grandchildren to have a lovely time.
David winces when Paul shows up at the club to meet Heather, Niki goes over to him to say hello. Filler chat. Paul's delighted his daughter invited him.
Back to Adam and Heather and more father and mother talk. They're getting much closer emotionally. Nice.
Sabrina and Victor and French. Blech.
All the Newman tribe, minus Victor, gather for brunch. Nick takes a call from his dad who thanks him for the gift. Kind of sad. Victor is wistful.
Lauren Mike and Fen arrive at the pool house where Gloria has prepared a FD party for them. Mike wants Gloria to tell him the whole truth and nothing but the truth about his daddy.
Heather and Paul meet at the GCAC too.
Niki watches lovingly as her kids and grandkids celebrate FD.
Adam arrives at the ranch to have brunch with Victor. (I gather when he and Heather spend the night together, they're at her suite at GCAC.)
There's not much happening, plot-wise today. It's really all Fathers Day stuff. Most notable, from my POV, is Victor finally getting it that he has all but lost his old family and it makes him somewhat sad.
Sad exchange between Nick and Victoria about their father, hope they'll never turn out like him, and how weird it is that he isn't there with them today.
Victor shows Adam a photo of the two of them together at the baptism. Adam's touched, wants a copy. Victor says he had that photo made for him, as a gift, father to son. Talk of Hope looking down on them. Gah, Victor says he will always think of Adam as Victor Newman Junior.
Gloria starts to talk about Lowell after Mike wears her down. She says she was a hippy, madly in love with Lowell who was gorgeous and charismatic. Michael came along, Gloria realised living in a minibus with no bathroom wasn't all it was cracked up to be. Then Lowell got drafted and fled to Canada, and they never saw him again. Mike asks when his mother and Lowell got divorced. Gloria doesn't say anything, prompting Mike to note that either she's a serial bigamist or she never married his father.
Nope - Gloria never married Lowell. She agreed with Lowell that they didn't need a piece of paper to say they could be together.
Heather and Paul - filler.
Newmans at brunch - Nick and Victoria are still kind of sad but work at being cheerful. Niki understands how hard this is for her grown kids, sans Victor. David sits there like a lump.
(Traci Bregman's hair look terrible lately. What the heck are they doing with those gawd awful extensions? She beautiful without them. Geez!!)
The Winters finish brunch. Lily gets a call from Chloe, Devon says Chloe hit on him the other day. They're all off to a new roller rink or something. Then Karen calls Neil with a Happy FD wish. Neil's all happy to hear from her, asks about her new job. She's not that thrilled with it.
Heather leaves Paul, tentative warmth there, a tiny bit awkward.
David sneaks off to listen to his horse races, Paul catches him, David lies. His horse comes in first, pays off big time. David's happy.
More Heather and Adam - meet up at CL to debrief on their FD brunches. They really are getting closer!
Lily and Devon coax Neil to go visit Karen - she makes him happier than they've seen him in ages. Dru mention again.
Gloria tells Mike she has no idea if Lowell ever came back from Canada. Lauren offers that many draft-dodgers stayed there. (Very true. I know several myself!!) Mike realises he might have been looking in the wrong places for his father. He might be in Canada.
Sabrina is PREGNANT, or at least that's what she tells Victor. Happy Fathers Day!

I wonder if Sabrina not really being pregnant is what drives Victor out. Would make sense since family is supposedly so important to him.
I am actually interested in this Mikey stuff. I wonder if they will cast Lowell. Sounds like an interesting filler of a show. Kind of weird for a friday show.

The first thing a smart trophy wife does is get herself pregnant. It's a little insurance policy so that when husband finally comes to his senses and kicks your butt out of his life, there's that child that will bind you forever. I've seen it over and over again. And if she's really smart, she'll go for a second just to seal the deal 100%. That's what Sabrina has done here. She has seen how much Victor is into his children, particularly his "new" son, Adam. Not to be one-upped, she HAS to produce an heir as well. She's madly jealous of the connection Victor and Niki have because of their kids and history, and is really intimidated by Niki (as she ought to be). I still believe Sabrina is a scheming witch. Can't wait to find out more about that.
But we know that Victor dumps her soon after they're married. Hmmm. Does she lose the baby, or did she lie about the pregnancy? Don't know. Or could it be that the daddy isn't Victor???? Oh well. Good soap.
Did you read the spoiler that David and Niki's marriage falls apart soon because of his gambling and lying? GOOD! I love that Paul is there for Niki, but I sure don't want them to revisit their romance. They wouldn't do that would they? Too ABC-ish if they did, lol.
Yeah I dont want to see Niki and Paul. I would rather they just give Paul a new woman. And as much as I think that Victor is a jerk I still can't help but root for him and Niki to get back together.
I don't like Sabrina either...can't wait till that goes away. Dont mind Adam but cant wait to find out what he is up to
