Happy Satuday!

Well, here we are in another weekend. It is going to be a busy weekend around here. This evening I will be going to my cousin's wedding, about 70 miles from here. My parents are riding with me.

I have quite a few errands to do this morning, along with trying to get the lawn work done. I have to find a few hours to put in for work, I'm not feeling the motivation right now. My poor interior needs a good dusting, bathroom cleaning, and floor cleaning. I'm sitting here with my coffee, and trying to wake up.

I gave my parents an LCD television last Christmas, and it is still in their basement. I have never seen two people procrastinate so much about having it installed. Last week the cable man, who was here to fix my internet issues, mentioned that he does home theater installations on the side. I asked him how much he would charge in install and wire my parents TV, and he said $325.00. I wrote him a check on the spot, and told him to go do it. I thought that my mom would be funny about my taking charge and paying for it, but amazingly she did not have a problem with it, and actually said thank you. He will be at their house this morning at 8 am. Mom even remembered to go to the cable company and pick-up the high definition box, so my dad will be able to watch his beloved Red Sox on his big television in high definition. I can't wait to hear about it!

I am going back to Ireland for a week in October. One of my cousins is getting married on October 11th. He's a sweetie, and my relatives from Baltimore and Syracuse will be going also. It should be a great time. I am going for a week this time, no long weekend. The airline was running a special, and if the ticket was purchased by June 24th, they were waiving the fuel surcharge, so I snagged the ticket for $514.00, and saved $230.00 on the surcharge.

I am going to be on vacation in a few weeks, I can't wait. I'm not going anywhere. I want to take care of some outdoor projects, and Sabrina should be closing on her condo that week, so I'll be over there, helping my baby nest, painting walls, and whatever else is needed to get her situated.

Well, I'm going to go polish some furniture, and find the pine sol. I hope everyone has a great weekend!

Sophia

It's not a very happy Saturday around here! We had a HUGE flood in the wee hours through the west wall of the house - the one that we didn't get waterproofed. Nick's bedroom new hardwood floor is ruined. Ted's downstairs now with the shop vac sucking up the water, although he shouldn't be doing that kind of work.

Instead of shopping for our annual July 1st (Canada Day) picnic bash, today will be spent trying to undo damage, and calling the waterproofers. Every single towel in the house is soaking wet, so laundry, too. I am so tired of this. One freaking crisis after another.

Also, 2 days ago I learned that my childhood home was torn down. My grandfather built it for my parents. I'll post the real estate listing. The world has gone crazy.

P.S. The photos didn't copy. I'll try again.

Kae hon!! I'm so sorry to hear that. And again I'm so sorry to be so scarce lately. We're looking at houses closer to work. We've figured everything out and we could save a ton of money. Not only would be pay less in gas, we'd be eliminating our directv bill and our Internet. We'd also be able to drop down to a cheaper cell package. Where I work we get every single channel, free Internet, and 15.00 per month for a phone line. With two dvrs and up to 4 digital boxes. You really can't beat that!

Eeesh! When it rains it pours, I guess...literally in this case. Kae, I'm very sorry to hear of the flooding issues, and then on top of that to hear your childhood home is no more. I'm mustering up all the good fuzzies and warm thoughts I can to send in your direction. And tell Ted to put that shop-vac down! Have one of them big strong boys of yours come do it!!

Sophia, sounds like you got a GREAT ticket deal! And a big yay for getting to go back to Ireland. Fun stuff! Be sure to take lots more photos for us again!

Jess, good luck on house hunting. That doesn't even sound fun, LOL.

I'm not doing much today. I'm still missing my kiddo. I can't wait to go get him next week. I'm quite lonely around here.

hey Tess one of these days I want to go to Ireland with you! You're so sweet to your parents. I wish I could spoil everyone I know too

We're on vacation in Wisconsin. Friends of ours have this condo thing. They get to use it a certain number of days and then it's rented out the rest of the year. They get half the profit. So anyway, they bought two and we are using one. I love it. Little loft for the boys and we've been swimming and boating. The kids are still sound asleep, way too much activity for them!

I'm getting along really well with my husband's friend's wife, Erin. So it's been great. You know how sometimes you get with a person that talks to much or whatever,

Oh and they have four kids, so between us, it's 7! Crazy, but fun

The men are golfing now, maybe we'll hit some nice shops in Lake Geneva, although expensive still fun to browse

Where exactly are you in Wisconsin, Tina? My son and wife have a cottage on Elkhart Lake near Sheboygan. They only use it in August, but love it there. It was actually d-i-l's grandmother's place, now divvied up amongst the children.
