Good morning everyone! I am encountering a serious motivation issue here, I have none to begin the morning routine to get ready for the office.
There is not much going on here Massachusetts, same old, same old. We spent the early part of the week stuck in a hot humid weather situation. The forecasters keep on saying it will turn today. I surely hope so, my poor hair has seriously been having some bad days with all of this humidity. Last week was rainy, so the hair woes have been significant. If that's my biggest complaint, then life can't really be all that bad!
I'm going out with a few co-workers for a drink after work, we are all celebrating having next week off. Although, I am going to have to sign on the system each morning, and monitor my emails, because I have two large projects it testing mode.
Anyway, how is everyone? KaeEll, I am sorry to hear about your water issues. I can definitely relate! I lost the seal on my basement a few years ago, and when the ground hits total saturation point, I experience water seeping in through the point where the floor and walls contact. It's a $10,000+ repair, where they will have to take jackhammers and insert drains and all sorts of nasty stuff.
Moore, how go the preps for the trip this weekend?
Shelly, have a great trip to your sisters.
Jojo, stay cool there, and how does it feel to have Jackson back home? Are you guys back into your routines? How is the job going, and do you have any vacation plans?
Brandon, any new activity on the job search? These weeks are really tough with so many people on vacation in companies? I was talking to my recruiting company yesterday, and they were commenting that it tends to stay quiet through the second week in August, because of vacations.
Christine, is everything in place for your fortieth party?
Tess, I know it's an expensive job, the waterproofing business, but really, there is no choice. We can't have our investment in the place destroyed, and nobody would buy a house with water issues, nor do we want moulds to take hold for our own health. Not a fun way to spend a few bucks, is it?
BTW, Tess, you are such an early bird.
The weather broke here last evening as we were outside cooking some peppers on the bbq - gorgeous now, soft breeze, AC is off, sun shining, windows wide open. Love this!
As soon as I've finished my coffee, Ted and I are going outside to tackle some Virginia Creepers that have taken over the east side of the house. Those darn things are like weeds, but they hide a multitude of ugliness on the side of the garage. The little girls next door planted some strawberries a few summers ago in a patch adjacent to that side yard and now those blasted things have completely taken over what used to be lawn. Time to resod, I guess. It's always sumpthin'.
Other than Y&R at 11, that is if I can hear it (cleaning lady day), and errands at 5, it's a quiet day again. No complaints about that!
Moore, almost forgot! I ordered that perfume online on Sunday, and it arrived on Tuesday from Montreal!! Wow! I was so excited, lol. They also sent me a whole bunch of samples, so I'm in heaven, smelly-wise.
Yay! KaeEll stinks purty again...!!! I'll tell you, I am really a detective at heart.
Tess, my husband just took our dog to the kennel, and I'm trying to figure out what to pack for tomorrow. We'll be gone only two nights, but I'm stressed! This is supposed to be a FUN trip since I haven't seen either of my daughters since Christmas. However, I know full well that the bulk of the party preparations are going to fall onto my shoulders, and then there's that whole travel "issue" involved...
I'm sure that I'll be okay once I get there, and settle down a bit, but in the meantime, I'm thinking about all the gazillion things that I OUGHT to do before our youngest arrives up here that I probably won't accomplish.

Moore, I think I know exactly what you're going through as I've had long spells without seeing my babies too, and we put so much emphasis on making things perfect for their arrivals. But in the end, the only really important thing is their gift of time spent with us. They really don't care if their favourite foods are in the fridge, or that their old rooms are in perfect condition, or if there are weeds in the flower beds. They only want to feel that it's home again, even for a short time.
Anyway, get some Bach's Rescue Remedy for that long drive. It really is awesome stuff and you can't OD on it. I know I could never have made all those nasty road trips to Hanover, NH without it, never mind the ultra stressful drives to Kingston, Ontario, where Mike did his undergraduate work at Queen's U. Argh, the mere thought of it makes me cringe. Try it!! Honestly, it DOES help!!
Don't forget to report back on the adventure! And GOOD LUCK!!
Thanks for asking, Sophia. I love having Jackson home, and since he's just getting readjusted, we have made no plans. And I have no vacation plans coming up. But, I do have a friend from Red Deer, Alberta flying in the first weekend in Aug, and I've promised to take her on some touristy destinations, like Mount Rushmore.
And congrats on having that week off next week! Nothing like a good week off to recharge the batteries!
Moore, I second the Bach's Remedy suggestion from Kae. She suggested it to me, and I ALWAYS have a little bottle of it in my purse. It's great stuff.
I actually love traveling. This little trip this weekend won't be anything big. Its 5 hours down and then 5 back up. Next Thursday in the wee hours me, Vinnie and the two girls are heading back west and will visit family in AZ before coming back. My only problem is that Vinnie is a typical man and may insist on driving the whole trip. Which means I will be bored out of my mind. I can't read in the car. My niece has a Nintendo DS. I may have to steal it. Or swipe one of the portable DVD players and catch up on movies. I hate being bored in a car. Ugh
Anyways, thanks for the best wishes guys. It should be fun. Stinks though i don't think we will be traveling through any new places. I think I have been through all of the states on the way. And I think that the directions Vinnie is taking us on takes us over the Tappan Zee Bridge which is cool because it also takes us through the town of Sleepy Hollow and I think that's cool. Hopefully I can get a good picture of the town signs. This bridge is a lot more fun then the George Washington. That bridge is way too crowded.
Well here I am at work again bored out of my mind. Kae I am so happy for you that you finally were able to get that fragrance that you liked. I have a Victoria's Secret fragrance that went out but since I knew it was going out I bought an extra bottle and almost never wear the stuff. So I have plenty. Still hoping they will change their minds and bring it back. Tess I hear ya on the motivational stand point. I have a hard time getting motivated in the morning and I don't get up nearly as early as you do. But hey, only 1 more day til vacation.
Jojo how are things where you are? Hows the job? Are things with the brother and SIL still going well. How about Jackson? How is he?
Where is Jessica these days?
Moore I hope you have a great time on your trip. I like NC. Really want to go down and see the Biltmore place someday.
Tina, when you take your little one to the dentist how does she sit still through the visit.
Gabi sits fine thru the dentist, I've been taking her for a couple of years and everyone has always been super nice to get her comfortable with the chair and all that! Take Jolene even just for a "tooth count" to get her used to the chair and all that.
Rex and Gigi moment today, anyone watching
My favorite fragrance is accapella by Mary Kay or chanel #5
Everyone take pics of the most scenic places where you live and post them! I live in the middle of corn fields!! Really!
Jojo, yes, please , how are things with s-i-l and brother? Has it all settled down?
Shelly, one of the few things that ever made all our driving tolerable was comedy CD's (well, tapes at the time). We'd all laugh our way through miles and miles. Or, if Vinnie's not in the mood, try audio books from the library.
Tina, I'll take some photos (as bad as my photography is) of my neighbourhood and post them later. I'm going shopping for dinner around 5:30, so some time tomorrow or later today.
So how's everyone doing today, I've finally managed to stop threatening the life of the evil bitch from hell that nearly killed me on the highway this morning. Just FYI, it is COMPLETELY MORONIC to come off a on ramp, move across two lanes of traffic into the fast lane thus cutting me off and having me slam on my brakes at 65 miles per hour...... anyways, I hope she has a horrible day filled with warm water, crappy customer service, tons of red lights and anything else that can happen.
So how was YOUR DAY TODAY?

Brandon, thank goodness you have the quick reflexes that you do! There are way too many idiots on the roads.
My day has been one big long waste of time. The cleaning lady, who is supposed to start at 9:30, turned up at 3, and I have to leave at 5ish with Ted, so she'll have to do a day's work in 2 hours. All that running around I could have done this morning....grrrr.
I like to travel, but not much. I'm not much of a road warrior, you could say. I'm glad you enjoy it Shelly, and good luck again on your trip!
Things are well here. I finally have my new laptop up and running, and I love it. The job is going well, and Jackson's doing pretty good too. Things have been going much better wtih the brother and sister in law, so I'm glad for that. How is Jolene?
Tina, I'm about 2 and a half hours from Mount Rushmore. I just take the interstate 2 hours to Rapid City, SD, and it's another half hour or a little longer on the highway to the place. But, it always takes WAY MORE than a half hour from Rapid, cuz there is so much stuff to stop and do on the "Road to Rushmore." You should def see it someday.
