Wednesday

Middle of the week again already! Nick slept here last night on the sofa in the family room, too exhausted from all that camping to drive back to his place, so things are a little out of whack here this morning. He's outside unloading my car of all that gear, then presumably will be off to work. It WILL be nice to have my car back. It was a little weird for me to be driving his little sporty thing around on errands. He failed to mention the freon was all gone in the AC in his car, so that was the first thing we did on Saturday morning. $25 for parts, $200 labour. I wish somebody around here had taken up auto mechanics at some point.

Other than laundry and a grocery run, today will be quiet, hot and humid.

What's up for today?

The weather here today is actually chilly and wet. I believe the weather man said it was in the low 70's, not too cold but with the wet it makes me really cold. I really dislike all this rain.

I am at work again, I like my job because after 2 weeks away I just slipped right back into work with no complications. Its nice, and everyone has said how they missed me, thats always a good thing to hear.

Kae, I can imagine riding around in a smaller car wouldn't be so fun, and I hear you about the mechanic thing. Our breaks about died on us while we were in Phoenix, luckily my dad is a mechanic so all we had to do was buy the parts. Vinnie still felt bad for making my dad do all that work in the heat, I tried telling him that my dad is one of those guys who likes it when people actually ask for help, plus Vinnie..my very own computer genius, did quite a bit of work on almost everyone's computers while we were there. I think its a trade off, computer consulting and whatever else he did isn't cheap if you have to pay for it.

I still need to do my vacation blog, not now though..My hands are a bit shaky and I am not typing too well.

I hope you all are having a good Wednesday

It's a beautiful, warm, sunny day here today -- not hot and sultry. I am currently, blissfully, doing absolutely nothing! I finished with the dolls, and got them delivered yesterday, but I'm exhausted from meeting the deadline, coordinating the delivery from other members, and the mad rush up to Rockville yesterday afternoon.

Our son came over for dinner last night, and (as always) really perked up Jim and me. He's great company! After he left (about 10:00 -- 10:30-ish), I sat out on the front patio, and looked at the stars. It was a lovely temperature, and quiet in the neighborhood. Jim walked Lucy. I realized after a little while that I was absolutely exhausted (was up at 6:30 a.m. yesterday morning, doing some last stitching), and went to bed. Slept like a baby!

KaeEll -- I forgot to add that Jim has a little car too, and I have yet to drive it! He's had it for a year... LOL!

I'll see if I can find a picture.

Moore, I understand your reluctance to drive Jim's little car, lol. I've been so used to my heavy Buick that driving Nick's Grand Am felt like I was driving around in a can of tuna. That's the reason I made him take my car camping - he had a long 3 hour drive on the dreaded 401 highway and my Buick is so much safer (at least I think).

I have a third dog here until Thursday. Christine and her hub took off for Niagara on the Lake for an anniversary love fest and dropped Buddy off here yesterday. This morning, as Nick was putting camping gear in the back yard to air out, the darling boy left the gate open and Buddy escaped! Thank goodness for some workers across the street who saw Buddy scattling down the street and I caught him. Gah. Recuse Remedy time.

It's been very HOT and HUMID here. You feel like you are under water.

I was going to take the kids to the water park, but they are having fun, and later I am going to the wake. So don't really want to mess my hair up in this humidity.

I tried to schedule a test at my OB/GYN for uterine cancer. Apparently all they can do is an ultra sound.

Kind of crazy that so many women die of something that they don't even have an annual test for!weirdface.gif

Hey everybody! I am actually having a normal eight hour work day week. Dorie came home from the doggie hospital yesterday. It is so good to have my little puppy back home! She was very subdued last night, but this morning signs of the old Dorie began to emerge. When I returned home this afternoon, she was back to her old self. It is truly amazing what a difference the antibiotics have made.

She ended-up having two different tick illnesses. Lyme disease and anaplasmosis. It is not that common to get both of them together, and when both strike at the same time, they can make a dog very sick, cause organ damage, and even kill them. It was truly a blessing that I brought her to the animal hospital on Sunday morning. The good news is that she should make a full recovery, and the treatment for both illnesses is the same, so she is covered with her twice daily meds.

It is cool and rainy here today. We are having the same weather as Shelly. I am not complaining, it is a nice break from the heat and drought. At least I don't have to water the hanging plants.

Life is very good here, Dorie is busy chewing at special bone, that I bought for her, and Tess is trying to steal it, she has already devoured hers. Ah, things are very good!

Replacement freon, crap I'd do that for free. 200 dollar labor is an f'ing rip off on that by the way. Just so you know. Call around, that shouldn't be that much. Parts yea, labor, rip-off!
