Argh! it looks like Y&R will be delayed today from Newfoundland because of an oil agreement thing going on in Parliament. Y&R will run but it'll get interrupted when Premiere Danny Williams actually signs the deal with the Federal government. If necessary, I'll have to catch the 4:30 airing from here.
Chloe is obnoxious at RS, pats her tummy in front of Daniel. Tense looks from Amber. Jack and Sharon think Nick and Phyllis are too distracted by the Victor search to care what's going on at RS. Phyllis proposes to Nick that they play switcheroo with Jack and do a dirty laundry expose on him.
Sharon's not too please when Jack tells her Gloria isn't moving out of the pool house.
In a little chat between Kay and Gloria, we hear that Gloria and Jeff are making additions to the pool house on the Abbott estate because they have decided to stay there, that Jeff and Gloria are going to the Cayman Islands for a honeymoon, that Gloria is astonished Cane was appointed CEO of Jabot by his mother, and that Kay has figured out that Gloria is up to something concerning Jabot.
Now it's back to a distraught Tyra over the Ana business. Neil comforts sobbing Tyra. Devon tries talking to Ana but she's too upset, calls them all liars.

Kay counsels Gloria to move on past Jabot, let go of it and get on with her life. Gloria goes on about how a year ago Cane was throwing shrimps on the barbie, is not qualified. Kay insults Gloria with her retort.
Sharon nails Jack over the Gloria thing staying on, but she relents, says she'll let Gloria stay on for Fisher's sake, lol. Jack's so relieved!
Daniel mutters that Amber made up her Liam guy.
Chloe offers to help Jack with anything he needs through Jabot because she marrying the new CEO and she could pull some pretty big strings. Jack thanks her, surprised she has that kind of connections.
Phyllis and Nick continue to plot against Jack.
Noah's at the ranch with a couple of trouble-making lads. Nobody's home but the kids anmd the boys start frisking around the pool. Noah looks on knowing there's trouble on the way.
Devon does his best to get through to Ana that Tyra is her REAL mother because she has taken care of her, etc.

More Neil and Tyra over kids and who's the parent, etc, more sobs, boo hooing, sniff, sniff. Here comes a big hug as Tyra blubbers on his shoulder and Karen walks in. The three of them continue hand wringing and Karen gives Tyra a big comforting hug.
Nick surprises Jack with his approval on the Jill expose in the David Chow article, pleased he left Nikki out of it.
Phyllis wants to include some personal ugly details in her article on Jack but Nick stops her, says it's not fair game.
Phyllis demands the keys to the penthouse back from Amber, her three days are up. She says it's all clean and ready for her. She doesn't really have anywhere to go once Jana and Kevin get back from their honeymoon. Daniel feels bad for her.
Gloria meets with Jack, says his meeting with her must mean he's going to help her take over Jabot.
Phyllis and Sharon disagree AGAIN on an editorial Phyllis wrote. Daniel asks her if they can talk about Amber. Phyllis's eyes widen, but she says not now.
Devon brings Ana home. Neil and Karen leave so Ana and Tyra can be alone. Tyra asks Devon to stay.
Nick catches the trouble- making boys raiding the Newman's poolside beer fridge. Noah had tried to stop them but they insisted. Nick kicks the naughty kids out then chastises Noah who mouths back. Sharon dashes off from RS to take part in the Noah misbehaviour thing, Phyllis and Sharon have ANOTHER snipe fest, lol.
Jack warns Gloria that if he goes along with this plan to take over Jabot, he'll call ALL the shots and if she screws up, he'll cut her off from everything even remotely connected to his father. Gloria agrees. Jack points out that here's one small problem - Katherine still owns 51% of Jabot so they'll have to cozy up to her, try to get her to relinquish some shares.
Sharon sends Noah to her car after Nick reams him for such disrespectful behaviour, then asks Nick what the hell is going on with him. (Nick was pretty harsh on the boy.)
Ana refuses to talk to Tyra, stomps off in a huff. Karen and Neil discuss the Ana situation, how being around her has made her reevaluate her position on children. She tries to tell him that now she knows she was wrong about kids being a burden but Neil cuts her off, praises Tyra.
Gloria tries to suck up to Katherine but Kay won't have any of it, tells her to stay away from her, and if she doesn't, she (Kay) will do something to her that she will regret. lol.
Sharon sympathises with Nick's reaction (Cassie flashbacks). Nice scene as they agree that Noah's antics have to be dealt with by both parents.
At Daniel's wheedling and pleading, Phylis tosses the penthouse keys back at Amber but tells her in passing that she's raising the rent.
Phyllis sneaks an "okay to go" to the printer just before Jack walks back into the office, Her article on The Real Jack Abbot has been sent to press.
I'm not at all happy with the way they have written Nikki as a lapsing alcoholic. It's just too trite and easy. Victor isn't going to be in the mood to come to her rescue, don't you think? Sloppy Nikki, angry Victor. Ugh. As much as he may "rescue" her from the beach when she finds him, he's got a few things to deal with before he deals with his ex-wife, lol.
I agree it is a bit too soapy. And definitely too easy. For me though this is one of the rare couples on daytime that I like their little dance. Like on OLTL, I don't care for the Todd/Blair dance at all. But I like the Newman dance. The players are just better.
Funny you should mention OLTL as a comparison. Seems whenever we talk about how something on Y&R is appealing, in spite of it being soapy and all, both of us manage to bring up an ABC show that does something similar, but does it badly, lol. (Sorry that I haven't watched GH in years. Maybe I'll give it a go since I'm down to just the one soap now.)
GH can be tough to swallow because it is almost all mob now. Though Laura is coming back shortly, and Vinnie from the Sopranos is going to be on too (but thats still mob). I don't mind the mob so its not bad for me. But a lot of people at that other board are sick of it.
