Tornado.... it's coming

(SoapOperaNetwork.com) -- New "All My Children" Head Writer, Charles Pratt Jr., shakes up canvas with a natural disaster hitting Pine Valley.

Just in time for the all important November sweeps period, ABC's "All My Children" is looking to entice new viewers with a major tornado that will hit Pine Valley in October. Soap Opera Network can also confirm, as reported by TV Guide Canada's Nelson Branco, that two major characters will die during the tornado and that there will be a number of guest appearances from past "All My Children" cast members.

A tornado last hit the fictional Pennsylvania town in 1994, when Julia Santos (Sydney Penny) received a scar after a chandelier fell on her during a party held at the Chandler mansion in honor of Adam (David Canary) and Gloria (Teresa Blake).

This seems to lend more credence to the death of Myrtle. If she goes then a lot of people would come back.

I'm wondering if Palmer might be one of those who dies. After all, they've brought an adult Petey into the mix now, and we already see even less of Palmer than we do of Myrtle.

If they kill off Palmer I wonder if we might see Nina

I would love to see Nina, she's one of the few soap stars I got to see in person. Long time ago. It was the early 80's and NY fashions are always so ahead. I remember thinking how she was dressed so "weird" and then later of course the style came here!

I'll say again that I'd rather they not kill off older stars but move them to a retirement home far away. Too much sadness. Then when the older actors do pass away in RL, talk about it for a bit on the soap and move on to the story. I liked the way Aunt Phoebe's passing was treated. Why not the same for Myrtle and possibly Palmer's?

I don't like it when they kill off characters either, but it seems that they're determined to do it with this tornado.

If it's Myrtle and Palmer, I hope that it's while they're on another "date", and happily sipping their martinis. If we're really lucky, Adam will be nearby so that Palmer and Myrtle can have one last opportunity to hurl insults at him!
