Gorgeous, hot Sunday

It's a really nice day here today. Good thing too, because Mike is moving back home right this minute. The guys have been hauling since 9 this morning and I haven't yet ventured to see what the downstairs looks like, but I can imagine. Ugh. So much for my new decor, lol. It's just until November when he'll head down to NZ for the winter.

When Nick gets home from his houseboat weekend, HE'S moving back in too. And tomorrow is out annual Labour Day picnic. Chaos reigns around here this weekend, lol.

What are you guys doing?

Hey Kae! Sounds pretty chaotic there! It's pretty quiet around here. Nice, breezy day. No sunshine, but it feels good out.
I was incredibly lazy yesterday, so today I'm trying to clean up around here.

We don't have any plans for tomorrow. Guess we could do a picnic or something. I dunno. I hate the though of going back to the grocery store for picnic goodies.

Potato Salad: (this may be too late for you, Shelly, but here it is anyway)

5 pounds potatoes boiled until firm but not mushy, peeled and diced
1 jar Hellman's Mayo
1 jar broken olives, drained
1 jar of capers, drained
1 seedless cucumber chopped up (peeled)
a good squish or three of Hellman's 1/2 fat mayo

Toss and chill, add tons of freshly ground pepper and top with fresh mashed basil leaves and cherry or grape tomatoes. Toss again.

Serves about 18 people.

YUM, KaeEll...!!! I'm glad to see that someone else loves capers, and black pepper!

I've copied the recipe, and am going to try it. We didn't do much yesterday, but our son is coming over for dinner tonight. I imagine that we'll do some more grilling. Maybe ribs, but I haven't decided yet.

I am using the recipe Kae, though I am downsizing it quite a bit. We will have 12 people here today but 6 of them are Jolene's age or younger

Everyone liked the salad, I even have a little left over for dinner sometime this week. How was everyone else's long weekend?
