I hate the Todd and Marty storyline even though i've grown to love original Marty since I wasn't around for the first time she was on. It makes me hate what Todd is doing even more. If she really winds up kissing him I may quit watching for an extended period of time.
I also hate the Starr and Cole storyline. I really didn't like that no matter what he did except for dragging his kid into court his opinion didn't matter. I suppose it makes me like Cole more though that he didn't do that, that's the true definition of being a parent....putting your kid's welfare before your own.
Oh I hate both of those too. I absolutely hate this thing with Todd and Marty. I read in SOD that the writer knows how bad this story is but believes that the fact that Todd and Marty may fall for each other is okay because Marty doesn't remember. I mean huh?
I didn't really like Cole and Starr to begin with but like them even less now. The storyline I mean. I may like Cole a lil bit better but I was never a Starr fan like a bunch of other people are to begin with.
I guess I just like her because of who she is. I mean the child of a popular couple, although at this point I don't know anyone who wants them back together. I haven't watched these two in awhile. My ff button gets a lot of use whenever I do get to watch this show.
I can't stand TSJ's portrayal of Todd anyway, so he's killing Marty's return for me! Otherwise, it might be interesting to watch, but he shows so little emotion, other than apparent boredom, that it bores me too.
He even seemed bored today when he asked Tess if she'd killed Tina. I had to do a translation inside my head to deliver his line the way that Roger Howarth would have. He would have been menacing... TSJ practically slept through delivering the line.
Okay -- end of rant.
On the PLUS side, I'm enjoying Tess again, and I'm glad to see Tina back. I LOVED her interaction with Roxy yesterday. What a hoot!

Yeah I am enjoying Tina as well. She is pretty amusing. And I usually am a big defender of TSJ as Todd but in the last few months I have given up. I keep hoping that the writers will change their minds and make this guy someone else.
Shelly, I thought that TSJ did a great job as Flynn.
I know that there are A LOT of people who just love TSJ as Todd, even those who remember RH in the role, and they prefer TSJ. I'm not one of them, but you don't need to agree with me on that. I honestly think that the problem is beyond the writing. TSJ has it within his control to present that character in different ways, and he apparently chooses to deliver him as bland. That's not Todd! That's never been who the character was... He was a very complex person, with a lot of rage inside of him, but with a little boy's longing to be loved and understood.
If the soap gods are listening, I hope that RH wakes up one morning and decides to return before Marty flees Llanview again. Then, they're welcome to expose PodTodd as an imposter, and turn him into Flynn again. That way, the fans from both camps will be happy!
