Different Question: Who did/do you prefer certain characters with

I was just reading an article on Matt Borlenghi who played Brian on AMC and happen to think that I thought him and Hayley were more entertaining then Hayley and Mateo. I guess its true what they say about happy couples in soaps, they are kind of boring, Hayley and Brian were never boring to me.

And oddly enough I actually preferred Trevor with Janet more then with Natalie. Natalie was a little too boring for him to me, at least towards the end she was.

I preferred Erica with Dimitri over Jack, her and Jack have a great romance but they too are kind of boring.

So what do you think

I loved Hayley and Brian together. Now when I see Kelly Ripa on that morning show she does, all I can think of is her description of how she first met her now husband (Mateo on AMC) when she was in rollers preparing for a scene with Uncle Pork Chop.

Erica is too long in the tooth for musical husbands. She ought to settle down with one guy and let it ride. I liked her best with Edmund and they weren't even lovers. AMC is making a big mistake letting SL continue to play the vamp at her age. Sure she's still gorgeous, but could she not leave the girlie-girl nonsense behind her already? Please!! It's embarrassing.

I completely agree with you, though I am partly afraid that if they have her "grow" up they may end up back burnering her

AMC seems to have a problem with balancing their stars' appearances. Since I just started watching again after a long break, I've noticed that it's the same people every day. Erica could still be a central matriarchal-type character and still be involved heavily in stories (see Katherine Chancellor) without all the hair-flipping and coquettish silliness, still be a knock-out, but have the good grace to display the decorum befitting a woman of her experience. Maybe it's the writing, maybe the actress's choice - don't know. (I have my suspicions, though.)
