Brad's in handcuffs waiting for his hearing, in rushes Sharon in response to a message he left for her to come to him.
Phyllis encourages Nick to hand deliver the really beautiful note he wrote to his father. He flashes back to Noah telling him how his mother had gone to Victor on Nick's behalf, asking him to help Nick with the RS mess, and hence the LOC gift.
Karen recruits Neil as a volunteer attacker for her group of women's self defense class she's teaching.
Jack calls Mexico trying to dig up info on Victor - no luck.
Gloria wakes up, mortified, in River's arms on Michael' s sofa. He laughs - nothing happened, they kept their clothes on.
Colleen's upset that all of Daniel's sketches of nudes are of Amber. She checks her messages, learns her father was arrested.
Brad spins his Chow connection to Sharon. He misses her friendship, she does too. He's called into court.
Jack finds the letter that Sharon wrote to Nick under the sofa cushion!! He reads it, tears up a little - sad Jack. (The letter was more of an apology to Nick about how bad things got among the 4 of them over RS and the differences between Jack's vision for the mag and Nick's. )
Poor Neil! Karen downs him in the class, claps all around. Ladies leave, kiss, kiss. Neil offers her her old job back at NE, she demurs at first, but agrees to breakfast.
Michael walks in on Gloria and River. She lies, says she just got there but Michael knows better, wonders aloud how Jeff will feel about this. She asks him to keep his mouth shut. Michael glowers.
Nick's outside the ranch, knocks on the door - security guard opens, says he can't come in, that Mr. Newman gave him strict instructions - he will speak to no one.
Jack goes to RS, tells Phyllis he found a letter his wife wrote to her husband and wants to speak to Nick. Nick's not there, of course. Jack's visibly upset, says Phyllis will find the letter as fascinating as he did.
Security guard admits Nick into the living room - huge mess, says Nick must get on with adding a line to his letter to Victor which he does, then Nick leaves.
Gloria manages to flub her way around her absence all night to Jeffery. She hugs him as she more or less believes her lies about what happened last night did the trick.
River waxes on to Michael about how he and Gloria fell in love instantly way back then, how having a baby wasn't planned, but was not unwelcomed, but circumstances. blah, blah. Michael's angry as he (River) is putting his family in jeopardy. Leave, just leave, take off today and don't ever come back into his life.
Colleen shows up at the court to find her father released, out on bail but had to forfeir his passport. Brad insists the FBI people investigate Jill Abbott as she had something to do with this Chow mess. Tells his daughter that all will be resolved before they go to trial. Colleen lets it slip that she spent the night at Daniel's, that she's seeing him.
Daniel has a serious talk with Kevin about nearly kissing Amber, Liam and Colleen, what does he think? Daniel admits to still having feelings for Amber but she's a tornado and Colleen is safe. Kevin advises Daniel NOT to invite Colleen to NYC - it's a statement, not like a date to the movies.
Neil and Karen in bed, kiss, kiss. He wants her to move back in with him.
Phyllis reads aloud Sharon's letter to Nick, says to Jack that this doesn't mean that there's something going on between them (Sharon and Nick). They both have trouble with the loving tones of the letter. Jack wonders if Sharon is lying to him about other things, not just about being 100% behind him regarding the magazine. Both are upset, but more Jack than Phyllis.
Sharon, back home now, remembers about hiding the letter and realises it's gone. She phones Jack, notices the iciness in his voice.
Karen tells Neil that he has himself a new roomie. Kiss, kiss.
Michael disgusts Kevin with the info about Gloria spending the night with River, lol. Michael says River is out of his life forever.
Gloria LIES to Jeff again - River called and demands to see her immediately before he leaves town. (Gloria keeps using Lauren and Fenmore as her excuse, but it's no secret that they are out of town.) Gloria dashes off to see him.
Jack tells Phyllis agree to keep each other informed, as friends, of anything new in the letter business, Sharon and Nick, etc. Says he does love Sharon and knows she (Phyllis) loves Nick.
Brad figures that Jill sold him out to the FBI to save her own skin.
Michael tells Jeff that Lauren and Fenmore have been out of town all week.
Daniel asks Colleen to come to his art show opening!
Victor tells security guy to dump Nick's letter on the pile of the other stuff - a stack of unopened mail.
Nick stops by the Abbotts on his way back from the ranch. He tells Sharon about the mess and darkness of the ranch, then asks her if she's the reason his dad gave him the money to buy RS.

Sounds like a good show. I wonder if Eric Braeden is on vacation. Maybe that's partly why he is MIA. As much as I hate the dance that the Newman/Abbott 4 are going through it is still amusing. And I always did love Jack and Phyllis scheming together
EB was in one tiny scene today - he told the butler/security man to put that newest letter (from Nick) on the pile on the desk.
Wait till you see the state of the ranch, lol. What a big awful mess!
It was a pretty good episode today, but I have to add that I really don't like the scenes with River in them. He's a really good actor, but I can't stand the character. He does have the hippie mind set down pat, though. The writers who do his dialogue must be of a certain vintage to get that way of thinking (flaky, IMHO) down so accurately. It's been a LONG time since I heard the screwed up rhetoric of hippiedom, lol.
Part of me is thinking that part of the reason Victor is hiding is because that he thinks the mob is after him. So he is staying away from his family. Either way something besides grief is going on here

Maybe he is staying all cooped up because of the mob, but then why doesn't he open his mail?
When a person goes into hiding like that, makes a darkened mess of their living quarters, lets the grounds go all weedy, etc, it's more indicative of a deep depression, as in deep grief. Still a good story, though, isn't it?
It is really good, because it has everyone wondering what is wrong with him. Its hard for me to believe he is grieving so deeply for someone he barely knew.
Yes, agreed, it is a bit much for a woman he only knew a short time. It HAS to be something else that's motivating him to be so weird.
Oh, another spoiler has him in an argument with Jack, so he must snap out of his hermit stage soon. Neil was pretty cocky today boasting to Karen that he was completely in charge of NE. That had to be a sign that Victor will be back at NE before too long, lol.
