Friday and Wynton Marsalis

Tonight Ted is taking our 3 guys to a concert at Massey Hall, the fabulous Wynton Marsalis!! For those of you not into jazz trumpet, he's a legend and Ted's the only one of us not to have had the pleasure of seeing him in person yet. I'll be happy to stay home and watch whatever the heck I want to on TV tonight. YAY!! Apparently, after the concert, there's a farewell party for Nick at some local pub. The boy still plans on leaving for BC early next week.

At 11, it's my usual Friday chauffeuring duties, then a quick dinner before the menfolk head out to the subway for the ride downtown to Massey Hall. Wouldn't they do me the favour of grabbing some street meat instead, but nope. Grrrr...

Moore, did Jim land safe and sound in Arizona yesterday?

What's on the schedule for today? Anything exciting?

Nothing exciting for me, did my time card and I will be able to slide out of here at about 230. Trying to figure out if I will have to be here Monday. I guess its like Columbus Day or one of those holidays. Hopefully someone else will be here because I don't want to have to do 4 10's next week. I hate that. Though I think if I do I will just stay extra at the end of the day rather then come in too early. I am SO not a morning person.

kae I have never heard of that guy but I do enjoy jazz to an extent. Sounds like a nice boys night out. I bet Ted will have a good time. And YAH for you having a quiet night to yourself.

Moore I am a little envious of Jim. Now is the perfect time to visit AZ. Its not hot, its not cold. Fall is the best time to be on Phoenix. Though the colors there aren't the same as the color's where its really fall.

Anyways, I am off to try and get my work finished so there isn't anything left for me to do later.

KaeEll, it sounds like the guys are going to have a fabulous time tonight, and you'll get your much-deserved peace and quiet! After you make dinner, that is... LOL! I forgot to ask -- how's the hair? Are you all glammed up again?

Jim arrived safely in Arizona, and is being absolutely spoiled rotten by the child! They dropped off Jim's stuff at the apartment, then went to the ASU planetarium to see a show. Then, A-D took him to her favorite coffee shop (where the "stalker" used to work), and they hung out there for a couple of hours. In the meantime, she had her crockpot going, so they had a fabulous pork dinner (lots of different spices), and that famous roulage for dessert.

Jim had to sleep on the couch, but said it was comfortable; it's a nice long one, and he'd slept on it before when he stayed at the other apartment, when A-D was still living with the quasi-boyfriend.

I'm not sure what all they have planned today, but tomorrow is The Apache Trail.

Shelly, I wish I could be out there too. I really do... If only there were a transporter means of travel. From everything I've seen, the past few days, the weather is gorgeous right now!

I really do have to make that trip up to Rockville today, and have a bunch of household chores to do. Nothing very exciting!

LOL, as glammed up as I'll ever get, I suppose. It was a much needed trim and colour. I'll get that facial next week - they were way to busy for my tastes yesterday. It's one thing to sit for 45 minutes with goop all over your head amongst a milling throng of strangers, quite another to be getting your face ozoned and steamed in anything less than a serene spa. And while I'm thrilled that Lisa's (salon/spa owner and original mom of my little Champers) business has taken off so well for her, I liked it better when it was smaller. I think I'll treat myself to reflexology that day too. Aaaaaah.

Shelly, I'll send you a link to Wynton Marsalis' web page. I think he has the odd piece of music in there you can listen to. His brother is Jay Leno's band leader, can't think of his first name.

My friend and chutney-making companion is going to join me tonight for a glass of wine and some girlie TV stuff. It's hardly much of a treat for her as she's been a widow for ages - her husband was killed in a plane crash in the Amazon about 13 years ago and her 2 sons have been on their own for quite a while, so she can do whatever she likes all the time! She wants Mike to buy her some vege-mite from NZ, lol. Do I have the heart to tell her she can get it here when she went to SO much trouble bringing some back when she was down under last winter? Whole Foods has it in stock all the time. Have you ever eaten any? Yick!!
