So as we all know gay marriage is a big deal but this proposition in California has created a whirlwind of a crap storm. So those affected by the ban on gay marriage are now going after the LDS church and sub groups want the IRS to yank their tax status. Yes, great, let's trade one harmful act for another. Way to go!
I soooooo no longer give a f'n crap about this issue. Go get married, ban it, I don't care. Just shut the hell up and figure it out. I have better things to do then hear Christians not act like Christians in their arguments against it and the pro gay marriage people attack people's religious beliefs as if they were believing Obama was an Arab.
ARRRRGHHHHHH x by like 1.5 billion times!

What's even more frustrating is that it all pretty much boils down to an argument over semantics! I imagine that the gay community would be happy to have their legal union called something other than "marriage" if it would entitle them to the same legal rights as any other married couple. Why do we have to fight about something like that?
Call it marriage, don't call it marriage, but give them the same legal rights, and move on...

The French have a nifty little system for gay marriages, and I apologise for not remembering the term for it, but it is a legal union between two people with all the same rights bestowed upon a married couple, but with no mention of gender. Many couples who are not gay have opted to make their unions official using this status, as the man and woman that Mike lived with while in France this past June.
I think it's bloody absurd that such a stink is made over this non-issue. It's about love and commitment. Isn't that a wonderful thing?
Years ago, during Pierre Elliott Trudeau's tenure as PM, he enacted a law here that basically reads that the government has no place in the bedrooms of the nation, and so it has been ever since. Amen.
