How was everyone's long weekend? Are we in Christmas mode yet?
Big disappointment for me as our next door neighbours, the only couple on the whole street that we like, pulled into their driveway with their brand new BMW SUV. You know the old joke about the difference between BMW owners and porcupines, that the latter has their pricks on the outside? Well. yeah. So disappointing. I'm hoping that it wasn't really a choice they made. Oh well.
Other than another dentist appointment at 2:30 today to replace a filling that fell out, it's business as usual, a bit more online Christmas shopping, and picking up Vanessa after school.
NC daughter and Loren will be leaving a little later today, and I'll spend a little time recovering from the holiday. Then, I guess I'll regroup and begin thinking about Christmas. I swear that it's becoming increasingly difficult for me to bounce back as the years plod forward. Or, I should say RACE forward! I can't believe that it's December 1st.
I have no idea what anyone has on their respective wish lists this year, nor do I have any idea what I want to put on my own! I really don't want much, unless it's books. Of all kinds... I love Borders gift cards, and also an Amazon gift card would be great. That way, I can use it to download stuff to my Kindle, or to buy books that aren't Kindle friendly.
What is everyone else wishing for this year?
(edited for stupid typo)

So I am just going to copy everything from my Monday post into this one. Brandon can you just close the other one out...
Moore I have no clue what I want this year. My MIL is already done shopping for me and I haven't even mentioned wanting anything. At least I don't think I have. I kind of want a blackberry but the one that Sprint has isn't great. I suppose I should ask for baby stuff but I kind of want to be selfish on that one.
Can you guys believe that it is already December 1st. On the plus side Vinnie has already been gone a month. Time is starting to go faster. And that is a good thing. I don't like being pregnant and having to take care of everything in the house at the same time. Thankfully he gets back before winter is over so he will be able to take over salting and shoveling duties. I think I may pay my friends 9 year old to come over and shovel. How much does that cost anyways? Anyone know?
MrHKath, its nice to see you back and posting. We all love each other but its nice when different people can add opinions.
Anyways, how was everyone's weekend? I hope no one encountered any mass hysteria like the people in NY did on Friday. I woke up to go to Walmart to get a GPS for my sister. But got there just after the sale started and got nothing but anxiety issues from all the people. So I went home and crawled back into bed. My mom said she heard that a lot of items will continue to go down so I will just wait.
Gonna look into getting Jolene tickets to see Disney on Ice. Should be tons of fun..
Shelly, I just noticed that we DID post at the same time. I posted then had to dash off to Amazon.ca where I have been for the last hour and a half getting increasingly frustrated. All done for now.
Thank heavens for online shopping, non? it sure makes things a lot easier! I've done almost all now except for one trip out to get a fleece vest for Quentin. Joe Fresh has great stuff for kids. It's a generic brand sold at Loblaws, a grocery chain here. I'll pop in there later today.
Shelly, it's no fun being responsible for everything when you're pregnant (tired!!), and taking care of a little one too. I know you'll be so glad to have Vinnie back, and I imagine that he'll be glad to be able to help you.
I haven't even thought about any Christmas shopping yet. I just can't believe it's already December!

I got tickets to take Jolene to see Mickey and Minnie on ice in January. It was 65 for the 2 of us and the seats don't look half bad. She will be SO excited.
As of this minute that is all I have bought for Christmas. Well technically Vinnie got a Dodge Ram for Christmas. So I am done with him. Haha. He will be out to sea until after his birthday anyways so I will have to buy him something for that.
I am really not sure what else to get for everyone. My niece needs something that will help her with reading and math. Anyone have any ideas on a toy type thing that could do such a thing? I wonder if DS makes a game like that
Shelly, how old is your niece and what grade is she in at school?
Too bad we can't keep one another company with the menfolk away. Ted's going to be in Ottawa for a few days this week, next month he'll be in San Francisco for a week and another week in February in DC. I hate being alone so much this time of the year too. It's the ice and snow thing that's the worst of it, for sure.
My niece is 7. She actually had to do first grade over. For many different reasons but the teachers and my sister agreed that it would be better to hold her back now then wait til later.
Christmas list? I get Christmas presents? HA! Yeah, no. I don't get much, and I dont really put together a wish list or anything. I did do one at Amazon becuase my friend wanted to know which books to get me, but that's about it.
Shelly, I'm think DS has some Brain Academy game or something. And you might want to check Leap Frog. I'm not sure how old they go in terms of what age groups they do products for, but it's worth a look.
Hi, Jojo!! Little Q is doing really well but now his sister is sick with a sore throat and a rash. At least it lets me off the hook for picking her up from school since she's at home today. Thanks for asking. :)
