Yes, Happy New Year kids. It's a bright but freezing cold day here to bring in the new year.
We ended up watching the Indiana Jones crystal skull movie instead of Dark Knight because nobody was in the mood for a ton of violence, and we'd been warned that Dark Knight was loaded with it. But honestly, Harrison Ford is such a one dimensional actor, and he could get away with it when he was younger but now? I don't think so, lol. It was too cartoon-like for me but we sat through all of it anyway. It was just like the Temple of Doom, in case anyone is tempted to waste a movie night on it.
Brandon, our "On Demand" movie list has yet to include The Inside Man or Traitor, but as soon as it does, I'll watch for sure. I'd been meaning to thank you for the tip. They both sound like the kind of movie I really like.
Anyway, my father managed to completely bugger up our evening by arriving 3 hours late for dinner and my poor little mother hadn't a clue they were so late. Mike, Ted and I ate at 7:30 and just as I had cleared everything away around 8:30. my parents showed up with no apology whatever. Mike had a gig at midnight down in Liberty Village (trendy part of town at a private party) and Ted and I had wanted to drop by Marilyn's little party around 9:30 for a sip or two but that was scotched because my father wouldn't leave here until it was nearly 11 and by that time we were tired and I was pretty angry and all the taxis in town were at least a 45 minute wait. No way would we get behind a wheel on NYE in this town with even so much as a sip of anything. So we watched Dick Clark, kissed in the new year and trundled off to bed.
Today is usually the taking down the tree day but Ted has come down with Quentin's lovely cold he passed on to me last weekend and now he' s flat out on the family room sofa.
So how did you spend last night? Was it a quiet one?
