We only have one guy in the shop here who was in favor of Obama and I think he is still at work somewhere. So I guess no one called in sick to stay home and watch. I can't afford it. You have to work 1200 hours in order to be paid for holidays here and I still have like 150 left. So I had to take yesterday off because Jolene's day care was closed and it was a Pfizer holiday. Plus I will have to leave a few hours early Friday to go get Vinnie. So I can't afford any more time off. That and like I said, I think I have too many attention issues to be able to sit there and watch it anyways.
So it is like 32 outside. Seriously the warmest it has been in weeks. I really hope some of this snow gets melted off. Then again even if it snows again I am leaving it for Vinnie. Gotta make sure he has something to do this weekend. Haha.
And about the babies. Its funny because one of them moves WAY more then the other. After learning that one is lying cross ways my dad says its because the one is laying down on the job. I am going to try and scan the pictures today. So I will upload if it works. Otherwise I will take it to Walgreens after work and have them do it. I hope that the babies don't stay that way. I am absolutely paranoid about the c-section thing and I know if they are not laying right then they may have to take them out.
I had a mini-text-conversation with Jessica yesterday and she is still working insane crappy hours. Said she hasn't been on the computer in a long time.
Shelly, we posted at the very same time this morning, lol. Maybe Bran can merge them if he has a moment today. Please don't fret about the C-section! Que sera sera, and the only important thing is the health of the three of you. And babies move around so much, chances are they will line themselves up just right when it's time for them to make their debuts.
Yeah, the babies should be doing good. They seemed good yesterday. I just called the doctor to make another ultra sound appointment hopefully for next week. That way Vinnie will be able to be there. The good news is I don't have to pay for any of these. Tri-care is awesome when they need to be.
Kae I am glad you are watching the whole event. I will be checking in with the news sites to see how everything is going but thats about it. As usual I don't really have a lot of work today. I have to go to walmart tonight to get the fixings for the chili for tomorrow night. I only have to buy the stuff to make corn bread with and the cheese, onions, fritos and that kind of thing. My friend Christy is doing all the hard part.
Last time I made the corn bread in one of those large metal pans that you may see at banquets or other large dinners. This time I may split it though into 2 smaller pans and put some stuff into one of them. Like corn, my mom always put pimentos in hers, I may do the same. Any ideas?
KaeEll, the kids did have a great time last night (I'm answering your question from the other thread), and went to bed as soon as they got home. We were all up this morning at 4:00 a.m. I had made lots of snacks for the kids to take, but they had to be distributed among coat pockets, NCD's purse, and a small little satchel that met with size restrictions.
The original plan was for them to eat breakfast at a little diner, but they scrapped that idea. I'd made some bagels for them to take anyway, and gave them orange juice while they were layering clothing, so Jim drove them farther down Columbia Pike, and managed to get them all the way to where the road was finally closed.
They walked across the bridge, and our son called us at 8:45 a.m., to say that they were standing at their designated check point, along with about 10,000 other people, and there were only three security devices through which everyone had to be funnelled. This matches with the fact that there were lines for Metro parking lots this morning with two-hour waits. And this was at 4:30 a.m.!! There was only one pathetical little booth person at each location to take commuters' money, so it was a bit congested. As my son said on the phone an hour ago, "I still love the guy, but his planning committee personnel responsible for crowd control need to be spanked!"
By 8:00 a.m., over 300,000 people had been on the Metro! Unfortunately for those still waiting in line in their cars to park in Metro lots, the lots were closed by then.
Jim and I are munching on some bacon/scallion/cheddar biscuits I made last night to send with the kids while we wait to hear that they're finally in their seats. My son says that, despite the handwarmers and the bundling, they have frozen body parts!
I'll keep you posted.

So Vinnie gets in Friday at about 430. Which means on the way back we get to stop in Warwick RI to eat dinner. I just looked it up and found out that there is a Texas Roadhouse there. Yummy...I have been craving a good steak for a long time.
Oooh lala, I have tingles already from watching this whole thing on the tube. I've got CTV on and they are broadcasting from the Canadian Embassy right across the street. I should be watching the CBC but I don't like Peter Mansbridge, the yapper over there. Here come the Clintons!! He sure looks sour. Hmph. And now the senior Bushes (he doesn't look too well today). And the Carters! Wow, such a huge crowd and a huge roar!! Moore, I hope the kids can keep warm from body heat. It's quite crowded.
Praise for George W from the moderator here, a nice touch considering how most Canadians have felt about him for 8 years. Cheers for the Clintons!! Just WOW! Bill's grinning now, thank goodness. And here comes the Lincoln Bible and the Bush daughters. Seafood stew, duck and pheasant is the lunch menu, Lincoln's favourite meal, so they just said. And now the new first children arrive along with their grandmother (I think). Aretha Franklin in quite the hat! All are waiting for George W to take his seat on the dais.
And we're just minutes away from the big moment now. What an amazing day!
