Jack sits with Noah as he wakes up, restless. Victor peers through the hospital door window.
Phyllis is turned back by the ranger, learns that all roads are closed, to and from the cabin area. Sharon is frantic to reach Noah, Nick comforts her, they are stuck overnight at the cabin.
Lauren finds that Eden is missing from her room, she is GONE! (it's bed time.)
Jack and Victor have unpleasant words outside Noah's room. Victor calls rank on Jack. (So tired of Victor's damn blustering. When will he ever get taken down a peg or two? Yech.)
JT works on finding Brad, has located his cell phone way out in the boonies. Victoria says the locale is where Jack's cabin is. Colleen insists on going there, JT goes with her.
More Victor blustering to Jack, Ashley comes along, stops it. Abby hears, asks why they hate each other so much.
Abby visits with Noah as he asks for Eden who has just arrived at the hospital but is afraid to enter Noah's room when she sees Victor and Ashley. Jack catches her lurking, asks who she's hiding from.
Sharon frets about Noah. Nick will go out to the hill to see if he can get a cell signal.
Mike and Lauren are furious with Eden for running off like this. Lauren knows exactly where Eden went, tells Mike to call Jana to watch Fen, they are going to get her.
Jack scares off Eden from visiting Noah and she leaves.
Victoria arrives at the hospital, greets Ashley, Abby and Victor, talk of Brad missing. Doctor will release Noah, but no Nick or Sharon so Phyllis will take care of it. She tells them all that she couldn't get through to the cabin and Jack recognises that she's really upset about Nick stuck with Sharon overnight. He offers to drive her home and she can pick up Noah in the morning. Phyllis asks why he's being so nice to her, he says he used up all his "mean" already tonight. (Do we see a repairing yet. lol?)
Sharon is upset, carries on, why didn't Nick stay with Noah, why is he there? Uh oh, he admits he felt that this is where he should be. Quiet intimate talking, Cassie etc. Nick explains that Noah can't remember how he got out of the freezing water, then back to Colleen and JT, stuck and unable to get to the cabin, they are on the way home.
Ashley and Victoria look on as Victor talks gently to Abby, admire how good he is with her. Mike and Lauren arrive at hospital as they got a call from Jack telling them she was there, but no sign of her now. (She has dressed ins scrubs is hiding, determined to see Noah.)
Back at the tack house, Jack pours himself and Phyllis stiff drinks as she rants on about how she could have got to this place. She had everything she ever wanted, and now this. Jack says she blew it, played with four lives and it's about to blow up in her face, but he does so in a friendly, somewhat sympathetic way.
Sharon blames Phyllis for Noah's accident, she should have listened to her about Noah and Eden. Nick tries to defend his wife but Sharon persists.
Eden's with Noah now. He asks who else was out there at the lake. She doesn't know. Abby enters, blames Eden, tells Eden to get out. Mike overhears the ruckus, enters the hospital room, drags Eden off.
Jack and Phyllis again, as they realise how alike they are. Hmmm. (It's not as if they are growing closer, just that they are more or less in the same boat courtesy of their mutual shenanigans.) Sad Phyllis. She admits she is scared to death of losing her life, feels she has been suffocating Nick, has pushed him into Sharon's arms with this awful jealously of hers. Jack says jealously doesn't spring from nowhere as Nick had been a constant presence in his marriage to Sharon. GOOD SCENE! Really good scene!
Eh, if Sharon and Nick are a go...which we know they are. Then I don't mind a Phyllis and Jack. They were more fun anyways. She had gotten a little boring with Nick. And I like the way Jack is with her.
And about Victor, according to Brandon's spoils...it seems he will get Colleen's wrath and maybe even Abby's fairly soon.
Shelly, Jack is wonderful with Phyllis today! Those two really know one another, much better than Nick and Phyllis ever have. But I'm not enjoying the bits about Sharon and Nick. It's too predictable, notwithstanding the spoilers.
Back at the cabin, Nick and Sharon continue their conversation. She leaves the room. Nick finds that letter in the tinder box and reads it. (He had gone to stoke the fire and add some wood, not a snooping thing.)
Mike and Lauren FINALLY take a hard line with Eden. Good Lauren!!
Colleen and JT find Brad's empty car. Inside it, Brad's cell phone is ringing as Ashley is calling him again.
Noah wakes up to Victor, asks for his parents. Noah recalls someone helping him at the lake, pulled him out of the water, but who?
Nick and the letter as Sharon comes back in, ready for bed. She asks him if that's... Yeah. They stare at each other.
Next:
Abby, Ashley, Billy and Lily listen to Victor's voice on Brad's phone, threatening Brad if he doesn't give up his board seat. Abby doesn't understand why Victor would say that to her father.
Sharon asks Nick to give her back that letter, pretend it never happened. He snatches it away from her reach.
Murphy promises Katherine that whatever happens, she will not be alone.
I don't find stable couples boring. What I DO find boring is the predictable musical chairs soaps play when they THINK there ought to be a shake-up.
For example, Victor needs to be called into account for his revolting attitude all the time. Abby needs to be shocked into reality along with her mother who has always driven me nuts (can't stand her). Jack needs to win a few times and Phyllis needs to be vindicated. Then I'd feel some sense of satisfaction from Y&R, not that I'm going to quit watching it any time soon, but it is beginning to pall a little for me.
I guess I don't find stable couples boring, I guess I just get bored with the stories they are in sometimes. I think that I must get bored with Nick because I love both Sharon and Phyllis on most days, but I guess Nick must bring them down because Jack makes them both more entertaining.
And I completely agree about everything else. It would be nice if Ashley finally saw the same Victor the rest of us and everyone else in Genoa City has seen
Jack brightens up every scene he's ever in, lol. He was just fantastic today, as usual.
The one thing I think that would make a big difference with Nick is if he had a moment of self-awareness, even if just a flicker. Most of his "thoughts" come from below his belt, sadly.
In order for this soap to be really spectacular, they would have to stir in some obvious consequences to all the damn hubris running amok. Nobody that really deserves to get locked up or ostracised ever seems to get it, hence the reason I'm a bit ticked off at the moment.
For example, the other night when Grissam left CSI and went to Costa Rica to be with Sarah, I cheered and cried! THAT's entertainment because it was satisfying. Soaps aren't exactly documentaries, so why frustrate or bore the viewers?
Maybe I'm just getting too jaded for this. I know I'm much harder to entertain now, especially with the low calibre of crud on TV and in many of the movies out there.
BTW, I'm watching OLTL at the moment. What a load of yech. So by comparison, I should go easier on Y&R, lol.
