he new cast of the eighth season of Dancing with the Stars is out.
The thirteen "stars" were announced Sunday night throughout ABCs primetime programming, and contrary to rumors, there is no Sherri Shepherd, K-Fed or Donny Osmond on the list (you'll have to wait until fall to watch Donny try to out-do Marie).
Instead, there's a married couple, a Bond girl, a lovable schlub, the sexy foreign one you've never heard of, and, of course, a comedian, an Olympian and an NFL star.
The surprise news is the return of fan favorite Julianne Hough.
Despite writing on her blog at Fancast.com in November that she would be sitting out this season so she could focus on that music career of hers, Julianne seems to have changed her mind. She's back, with a twist: Julianne will be paired with her real-life boyfriend, country singer Chuck Wicks.
Here's the full list:
Belinda Carlisle, 50, lead singer of The Go-Gos
David Alan Grier, comic (In Living Color)
Jewel, singer and "Nashville Star" host
Shawn Johnson, 17, Olympic gymnast (four medals in Beijing), and this year's youngest competitor
Lil' Kim, rapper
Gilles Marini, French actor (Sex and the City movie)
Ty Murray, rodeo star and Jewels husband
Steve-O (aka Stephen Glover), Jackass
Nancy ODell, 42, "Access Hollywood" host
Denise Richards, Bond girl, Wild Thing, reality star
Lawrence Taylor, NFL Hall of Famer
Chuck Wicks, country singer and Julianne Houghs boyfriend
Steve Wozniak, co-founder of Apple computers and Kathy Griffins ex-boyfriend

Sounds like a fun cast. I love Shawn Johnson. Hope she does better then the other olympians. And thank goodness for no Donny Osmond. Im not a huge fan of Jewel but love Ty Murray. Thanks for posting Brandon
Denise Richards? Oh good grief! There's one I'll be rooting for to leave first week, just like I did for the one legged thumpy one a couple of years ago. I guess they have to put some reviled characters in there to keep it interesting.
So I wonder which contestant the judges will force all the way to the finals without so much as a true negative word. Aka, who's this year's Brooke Burke?
