Pictures from NZ

Here are a few pictures of Mike and Maya in NZ. The blue cottage is their Raglan beach house where they go weekends. The rest are just candid shots of the kids enjoying life. It's a huge relief to see Mike so relaxed.

When Mike was skyping these to me yesterday, I asked him if the white stuff on the roof of the cottage was snow, lol. He said no, of course, but didn't know what it was. Bird poop? Big Bird poop, maybe, lol.

The cottage belongs to the owner of the travel agency Maya works for. It's available most weekends and the kids repay the boss and his wife by baby sitting and gift cards to a favourite restaurant. In Raglan, Mike has found a community of other post graduate students from U of Auckland and he is seriously considering finishing his dissertation down there. He's already been published, so there will be no problem with acceptance. There are worse places to be, that's for sure.

He'll be back here in 2 weeks. Maya is following him here 2 weeks after that. She has her visitor's work visa for 12 months. The current plan is to rent accommodation in the back woods as long as there is high speed internet. Good luck on that, lol.

What great pictures!! I'd love to spend a little time in that cottage, bird poop or not...

Mike does look very relaxed, and happy. Great news that he's coming back.
