KaeEll Update!

She's sick...

Poor KaeEll has both pneumonia AND asthma, and had to go back to the hospital early this morning (Wednesday). She's on new meds to treat both problems, and hopefully is getting some rest.

Feel better... We were all really worried about you!

Feel better Kae, you are seriously missed. I hope that you are able to get enough rest, is Ted helping to keep everyone away?

Hi friends! I'm alive, thank goodness, and thanks to the great folks at the hospital who corrected a terrible mistake from the doctor I saw early Monday morning and put me on proper medication. After a series of blood tests and x rays, they got me the right stuff and I'm on the mend now. The meds give me the darnest buzz though, lol. I'm not sure I like it but meantime, forgive typos and such. I range between wanting to bite heads off chickens to weeping, lol. My blood oxygen level is rising too, so that will make my head work a little differently, maybe even improve it, LOL.

Saddest thing yesterday in the hospital. Beside me, at about 10 a.m., a little old man was wheeled in, say in his late 80's. No family, nobody. He was obviously in a state of dementia. I asked the lady at the triage desk on my way home late yesterday afternoon what the story was with the little old guy and she told me it was a "dump". She said it happens all the time when there is care-giver burn-out and it's especially bad around the holidays. It happens all the time!!! What does that say about health care? So sad.

Anyway, I'm back and will be rattling from one sofa to the next watching my TV and little else. I missed you all yesterday and ALMOST gave Ted my password so he could log on here and let you know what was going on with me, but I managed to wheedle my way out of an overnight stay at the hospital by promising to be good at home.

Oh, and my new brilliant (and very cute) doctor hooked me up with a stress management clinic right there in the hospital to help me deal with the multi-generational tug-of-war I have going on. I've met with her (clinic lady named Nancy) once already and she's wonderful. I have logs and diaries to fill out, gadgets to blow in, anecdotal reports to make - lots of "fun".

Well, while I did miss you yesterday I am more happy that you listened to the doctors and got some rest.

KaeEll, we're glad to see you back, but your buddies here are going to hold you accountable to your hospital promise, and make certain that you BEHAVE!

Shelly and I both had a feeling yesterday that something wasn't right, and I came within INCHES of calling you, but didn't because I was afraid you might actually be sleeping, and I would disturb you. Somehow, though, a little something was tickling the back of my brain, and it said that you were in some kind of distress...

Take it easy, and put all the other "stuff" out of your mind. The world will go on... I'm glad your hunky doctor hooked you up with that stress management clinic too. He's clearly a doctor who's on top of things, and who takes his patients seriously.

Oh, no! Kae, REST, REST REST! Like Moore said, BEHAVE! Just think of nothing else, lie down, watch some tv or read a good book. Whatever you do, don't freak out over what to make for dinner or cleaning up. I'm sure Ted can get himself a sandwich, LOL.

I will be thinking good and warm thoughts and fuzzies for you.

Thank you all so very much. I have no choice at all as it turns out. If I attempt any chores, I just end up in a coughing fit, even yapping on the phone is limited, lol. My friend Christine is now back in Dubai, so that's one yap session I won't have for three weeks. Marilyn is supply teaching this week around the corner and will come for tea at 4, and she'll plug in the kettle too. I look forward to that.

Talk about getting hit over the head with a wake-up call. Sheesh.

I'm going to watch AMC and then OLTL today. Would anyone mind if I posted snarky snarky remarks? After months of Y&R as my steady soap diet, I have a real jaundiced eye for ABC junk, but hey, I'm stuck here, lol. TV takes up way less energy than reading. I never knew that!! I guess it's a matter of brain space, lol.

Post away! The snarkier the better...

As for OLTL (and I really ought to put this in the proper location), I'm really enjoying the Bo/David/Rex storyline. The entire "who's the Buchanan, and who owns the house" question has kept me giggling for days!
