happy Wednesday

YAH, half way through the week. There is one good thing about being stuck home because of the snow. Makes the rest of the week go so fast. And we have to change our clocks this weekend. Supposedly we are going to get hit by the 50 degree fairy this weekend. I sure hope so.

So I got a text message at like a quarter to 2 this morning from my girlfriend, Tricky, saying that they were headed to the hospital (she is pregnant and the little guy was due on Monday) and that her contractions were 3 minutes apart. I am SO excited but hate that I work in a no cell zone. I will have to periodically go upstairs just to check my phone. I am SO excited for her its unreal. This is their first, and they have kept the name to themselves so we don't even know what his name will be. I just can't wait to meet him.

Anyways, what are you guys up to?

I typed a reply to this ages ago, got up to answer the phone and my message disappeared. Harumph.

Still snowed in at home, Shelly? Sheesh!

We got up super early again and I made a crock pot of chicken curry before 9. Smells divine but it is a little too spicy to send some over to Tony and his kids. I'll freeze some for another week down the way.

It's time to make Ted some lunch as he worked home this morning, then he'll head downtown after 1.

My parents didn't bother calling or coming for tea yesterday. I fussed and had out pretty cookies and tea things, phoned and phoned, no answer, Finally at 6 my father answered and offered neither an apology nor explanation for not coming. That'll teach me, huh. I honestly don't know why I even bother. I have not phoned them yet today and I'm not sure I will until after dark.

Nope, not snowed in completely. Its just still everywhere. But hopefully the higher temps this weekend will melt some of it off. I was enjoying it when I could see my grass, dead as it is.

Have you guys seen the joke that has become of the Bachelor. Someone please just stick a fork in this show. It is over. No one on the Bachelor has ever stayed together.

Sorry, I've never watched The Bachelor.

The reality shows are wearing thin now, aren't they. We still watch AI because Ted has really enjoyed it but last night there were only 4 out of 12 singers we could even stand! The rest were just awful.

Oh, btw, that little doodad from yesterday that I posted pictures of? Nothing. Nobody claims it, nobody knows what it is. I sent pics all over the place and everyone responded that they had never seen it before. It must be from an alien ship.

I just found Celebrity Apprentice on Fancast. I love when I can get good tv shows online while I am at work. I know that Donald Trump is an ass, but this show is so good.

KaeEll, that completely sucks about your father's birthday tea. I'm so sorry! You've been stood up a lot lately, and now that we're on the subject, did your friend ever call you to apologize?

I hope you ate all the pretty cookies!!

Jim and I love American Idol, and wouldn't miss it. I used to watch The Bachelor, but didn't watch this season, and didn't miss it either. I think I'm permanently done with it...

Some guy from the water company rang my doorbell this morning, and said he had to change the meter, so he spent about fifteen minutes doing that. Fortunately I wasn't without water for long; it's amazing how you don't realize how much you use it until you're without. I occupied myself in the basement, while he was down there, and began looking through some dusty bookshelves. I was going to run upstairs quickly to wash off my hands when I suddenly realized that I couldn't! Such a simple little thing, but it really annoyed me.

Don't know what to tell you about the little thingy, KaeEll. Very strange...

Moore, the friend that stood me up last week was oblivious, apparently. She did call the next day and completely blanked out that she was supposed to come, so I sort of forgave it as a lapse. She's an odd lady sometimes, as I've mentioned before. Her husband died in an Amazon plane crash about 15 years ago and she has been alone since. Her two boys were at boarding school, then university, then married with kids in a short time, still all alone. Then her very aged mother passed away and left her and her only brother an absolute fortune. Sometimes these things change people and it's not the first friend I've had change when a relative died and left them millions. Another "friend" left her husband of 24 years for some svengali creep at work and exploded her family a couple of years after her grandmother died and made her the only heir to a NYC fortune, including the Emily Post Penthouse on Central Park.

Now my father, well, another story. He wanted to "put me in my place". He's a perverse man, never learned how to treat people with kindness really. It's been like this all my life. I've always been able to keep my distance but now with my mother dotty as hell, it's much harder as I really need to keep an eye. If I get too close, he pulls something like he did yesterday.

No, I didn't eat the cookies, lol. I did manage a cup of honey lemon tea for myself at 4 and that hit the spot.

I'm going to hang onto that little button thing.. One day we might have an AHA moment, lol.
