Hello everyone!! I hope you are all well, and that you are resting up, Moore! Sophia, nice to see you again!
Shelly, I saw you asking about me in another thread, thank you! The trip to Montana went well. We don't get Jackson's test results for another few weeks, but I will let you all know as soon as that happens.
As for being snowed in..UGGH. The entire city is shut down here. It's really, really bad. It started in the wee morning hours Monday, and didn't stop snowing until something late, late last night, or early this morning. I went out to the front porch to shovel a little off, because I life upstairs, and didn't want the heavy weight of the snow to buckle the porch. The snow in the corner of the porch was up to my waist. I shoveled a bit off and called it a day. I also went out to shovel to get rid of my cabin fever. It's hard being stuck inside all day. Equally hard being stuck inside with a kiddo who desperately wants to go outside, LOL. This is one of Wyoming's infamous spring storms, and it's a doozie. The highway is shut down, and police are giving out $400 tickets to dumbasses who try to drive anywhere. I wonder where are they going? Every business in the city is shut down. Even the coal mines. Right now, the snowing has stopped, and left behind an ugly, nasty, dangerous mess in its wake. The power is back on for me, but it was out for a little bit yesterday. Some parts of the city are still without power. So, this is Day 2 of the big snow in, and I'm hoping we'll be able to get back to some sence of normalcy tomorrow.

Oh dear, I saw the picture you posted on facebook. I am so sick of snow this year, I really hope that storm isn't coming my way. Ugh, I can't wait to move to VA where they get a nice amount of snow and not an insane amount. Do you at least have some books to keep you busy? I don't know what I would do with myself if I couldn't leave, well besides sleep.
Glad you made it safely home from Montana before the crazy storm started. And please do keep us posted on what the results say.
Thank you for coming and letting us know how you are...Its been a busy week for you.
Hey, Jojo! Sorry about your big snow! Good grief!! I'm surprised the city hasn't got better removal crews lined up since this spring storm is the norm. Money all the time, eh? It's always the problem.
Oh, please keep us in the loop with Jackson. I think the more people he has rooting for him, the better. And for you too!
I think we've had the last of the snow up here this winter but I still won't let Ted put the shovels away yet, just in case I piss off the snow guy up there with a displaced confidence, lol. The crocus are up now, sweet little brave things!
Hey jojo!! Sorry to hear about your massive snow storm. I'm afraid that I've mentally packed winter away now, even though it's not all that warm yet. I just can't take anymore! LOL... If we had another major snow storm now, I don't know what I'd do.
I feel fine today, as though nothing ever happened at all. So crazy.
KaeEll, how's your asthma these days? Is it getting better now?
Geez -- what with Brenda's injury/upcoming surgery, Sophia's surgery, KaeEll's asthma, and my little hospital run, it's like we're all falling apart here! And Shelly's tired, but she has good reason to be...

The asthma's under control, thanks, Moore, but I'm still taking steroids and THAT does not make me very happy. There are side effects I don't like one bit! My hairdresser was dumb enough to say I looked puffy, which is true, just don't tell me. Harumph! I see the doctor on April 2, so he'll HAVE to get me off the darn things or else.
What beautiful white snow, Jojolin! This morning I did three loads of laundry, then I went line dancing, and then shopping, then the library. Now I need to get off the computer and start making dinner!

Wow, that is some snow! I have also mentally put winter away. I was actually out raking my front yard, and got the riding mower out to suck up the debris the Sunday before St. Patrick's Day. I have oak trees, which held on to those darn leaves until February. My front lawn is pristine now. Of course, I did not realize that my stomach muscles are not as well healed as I thought, so I ended-up flat on my back, and at the hospital on the following Tuesday. I am now not allowed to do anything heavy. Very frustrating, but I will cope. I am now looking for a landscaping company to come in and put in a new mulch area, and spread mulch in the other areas.
I completed another home visit tonight for a family that wants to adopt a dog from the rescue organization that I have become involved with. I love it! The dogs are from Arkansas, and they will be arriving in NH. On April 4th, three dogs that I have done home visits for will be arriving on the transport. I am going to be there, to get their dogs for them, and hand them over to their forever homes. I can not begin to tell you how wonderful it is to see this happen. Two of the dogs, who are arriving, were rescued by the partner rescue groups in AK, from kill shelters, on the day that they were scheduled to be euthanized.
Anyway, things are well, here in Massachusetts. I am starting to get excited about a little adventure that I have planned for the first weekend in May. I am going on a cruise to the Bahama's for the weekend. The ship leaves Miami on Friday at 5 PM, and returns on Monday at 8 AM. I am going with a singles cruise group. I will not know another soul on the ship, but the group I am going with has about 200 singles like myself going, and it sounds like a blast. I am trying it for a weekend, to see how it goes, and if I like it, then I will try another cruise for a week. The organization has some great stuff said about it, and since most of my friends are either married, or have younger children, it is tough to find someone to take off with, so I'm going to give this a try. I have never been on a cruise before. They have a get together in Miami on Thursday night, and rooms in a hotel available, and an opportunity to do a morning tour of Miami, so I'm going to go down and check out Miami before getting on the boat.
Hi Sophia! That rescue organization sounds fabulous!! And I'm jealous of your cruise. I hope you have so much fun! And take it easy with the labor! Can't having you going to the hospital!
Tess, I've never been on a cruise either, so I'll look forward to hearing your description.
The closest I came was about four years ago when Jim and I took a riverboat trip (three days) and then spent four days in New Orleans. As a matter of fact, that's where my avatar comes from. We'd just arrived on the American Queen (were exhausted from travelling, and melted from the heat), and were goofing around on our so-called "private" balcony when Jim snapped the picture. I was trying to look "alluring" because this was the first real vacation we'd had, just the two of us, since kids arrived, but my clothes were sticking to me, my hair frizzled, and my face flushed. I thought the picture would be hideous, but it turned out to be the best picture I've ever had taken (who knew??), and probably the only one I've ever actually liked! LOL... That's the mighty Mississippi behind me.
Anyway, Tess, I figured that the riverboat was more my speed, and we had a wonderful time. I can't wait to hear your reports of an actual cruise. My oldest nephew and his wife, who live in Florida, have been on several, and love them. I hope you have a fabulous time!

Moore I would love to do a riverboat cruise. I am paranoid about doing cruises. I think the only ones I would do would be an Alaskan one or the Disney one...But the riverboat sounds awesome.
Tess, that is horrible about your stomach. Seems like it has been forever but I guess for that kind of surgery it really hasn't been so long. Oh, and since you have put winter away, I guess that means I can too. You are a much more seasoned New Englander then I am. I am still afraid of one last snow. Figure with Vinnie leaving Friday it will happen when he is gone. And your organization sounds great. I still want a puppy very badly but with 2 little ones on the way that isn't likely to happen for a LONG time. But you can bet that when we get one it will come from a rescue place. My sister got her dog from a small dog rescue place in Mexico. Its amusing because I know I have posted pictures of her, and small is not a word that could ever be used to describe her. And we knew when we actually got her that she would be big because her paws were so big. She is a good dog, I look forward to her coming over to play in our yard once we move to VA
Oh yeah, forgot to add. I had a stress test done this morning. Never had to have one with Jolene. Don't know if it is a new thing for all moms or if its just because of the twins. But both girls are doing well. The test made me sleepy.

Tess, you will have fun on your cruise in the Bahamas. My husband and I went on a cruise back in 1972. He was stationed in Army near Miami. Some convention cancelled the cruise on short notice. So, the cruise was offered to the military personnel and spouses at a very reduced cost. We had such a good time. The food was great on the ship and good entertainment, too. We road motor scooters around one of the islands. We tried to get in the Bacardi Rum factory, but it was closed that day. The beaches were beautiful with the white sand and clear water! I remember going in an ancient torture chamber with a guide. It was a very erie feeling.
I am glad you are helping rescue dogs. I had a mixed dog for 16.5 years we got from a humane society. Ginger was the best dog ever!
Haha, was just watching last nights NCIS and in the beginning a military mom was trying to talk to her kids. The oldest was on her way out of the house and the mom said be back by 11...well the girl said back "thats not what Dad said" because just before they were talking to him in Iraq via one of those computer web cam things...anyways mom made a comment about a change in the the regime or power or something like that....then she looked at the agents and said "Next time I am going to Iraq"....
I thought this was funny because I can't tell you how many times I have wished it was me out to sea and Vinnie at home dealing with house stuff and Jolene. Just had to share that. Does anyone here watch this show?
Sundancer, the best dog Jim and I ever had was our first, and she was also a mixed breed who lived to be just two weeks short of sixteen. She was half Lab and half Border Collie.
Tess, it's really great what you're doing with the dogs. They're the most amazing animals, and I can't imagine not having a dog in our home.
We didn't get Amanda from a shelter, but the two dogs we've had since were, and they were both mixed breeds. Gypsy died about six years ago, and Lucy is twelve now.
