This was supposed to be a quiet day but now we have 4 extra people for dinner, so, so much for that, lol. Mike's on his way with the g/f and a trunk load of laundry, asked to stay for dinner, and my parents as well are now coming over.
Did anyone watch Grey Gardens last night? We didn't want to pay the HBO Canada fee of $20 to see it (ridiculous amount). Instead we watched Milk. WOW! Intense acting from Sean Penn.
So what are the plans for the rest of the day? It's a bright and gorgeous day here. Thank goodness it's nice enough to bbq.
It is nice here, we had a ladies luncheon after church today. One of the women made some Cambodian dishes. She made these little Asian egg rolls as well as some curry and some stir fry. Was all super good. But left me in a bit of a food coma. So I came home and passed out.
Kae a bbq sounds good actually. Hope you have a nice dinner
I got the house all cleaned up this morning, but 2 of Jackson's friends are over, so there goes that, LOL. So I decided if I can't beat them, to join them. I was outside with them earlier, drinking Kool-Aid (Crap, it's been a long time since I drank that!), and getting some sun. I didn't even open my credit card statement...I'm being a kid all day, LOL.
It's been getting busier and busier at work. Which is a very good thing. It was so slow there for a while, and there's nothing worse than worrying about being downsized.
My grandmother gave me a good giggle today. She's finally able to text on her phone, and I sent her a joke, and she texted back "LOL!". That's just not my grandmother and laughed for a good bit over that. I called her and asked if she even knew what LOL meant, and she replied "something about laughing?" Ha! She's learning.
Shelly, what kind of food constitutes Cambodian? I've never had it. How adventurous!
Kae, BBQ sounds delish. I sorta wish I had a grill, but in this apartment, there's no where to put it except on the front patio, and I'm afraid it would get stolen. Although lots of folks around here have them, and they all seem to be fine. I'm a worry wart though.
I don't have HBO, so no Grey Gardens for me. But, I have heard of Milk. What exactly is it about?

Jojo, the movie Milk is the true story about Harvey Milk, a political activist in the 70's in San Francisco. He was the first ever (in the USA) openly gay man elected to office. He and the mayor of SF were assassinated in 1978. It's a powerful and riveting story, phenomenal cast too. Definitely not for kids, btw.

Yeah he saves it up for his potential Oscar winning roles. LOL. Actually I thought he's done better work but maybe he just wasn't fully into the role this time around. Either way, I thought the movie was eh at best.

Bran, we lived in SF at the time all this was taking place. We found the first part of the movie a bit uncomfortable to watch but as the political intrigue mounted, we were hooked. Maddeningly, the digital transmission went all kaflooey at the end so we couldn't read the subtexts telling us what happened to the characters, but we thought it was an extremely good movie. Different tastes, eh?
