Thanks, Sundancer! I hope you received phone calls from each one of your kids today. Did they send you some flowers?
We just finished our family dinner that started nice and early and Ted has gone off to drive Mike and Maya home. The guys cooked and prepared everything, the kitchen is a mess, and I'm off the hook for this one day, lol.
My little mother was her usual self, laughing and oblivious to the celebration, but she seemed to have enjoyed all the chaos of what our family get-togethers have now devolved into. Little kids can do that. Nick announced that he may well be leaving to go back out west a week earlier than we expected as he might be accompanying a friend who is driving there, and he is to be back at his "job" by the 23rd. But happily, Nick, Mike and Maya are trekking off to Montreal next weekend, the long one, to show Maya the sights as she has never been there and both guys have a few friends to visit and places to stay. It's a comfort when the kids plan things together, and they seem to be doing that more and more lately. The distances have made them more appreciative of one another. I think, but what do I know. I learn more from eavesdropping over the dinner table about Nick's doings in BC than anything he offers to his dad and me. Anyone else experience that with their grown kids?
Almost time for Desperate Housewives! Do you watch too?

I got calls from all four --- youngest to oldest -- First Audrey (Charlotte, NC), then Brenda (San Francisco), Eric (Cleveland), Monica (Charlotte, NC) and a card. I didn't get flowers, but did get my favorite perfume and a card from Audrey. Eric sent me flowers last year, which never arrived. so, he got his money back. I told him it would make me happier if he would mow my lawn in Ohio and he will.
I posted yesterday (or tried to), but the board froze up, and then I got error messages. Apparently my post never quite made it!
Anyway, I had a very quiet day, heard from all the kids, and felt guilty because I should have been gardening! It was beautiful here, and it used to be my tradition to garden on Mother's Day while Jim watched the kids. I'd always feel such a sense of accomplishment, after I'd bought flowers, hauled topsoil and peat, gotten filthy dirty, but made the yard look nice. After that, a long hot shower, and a cold glass of wine would perk me right back up again!

It's still a bit too nippy to plant annuals up here. Next weekend is the long Victoria Day holiday and that's the time we're given the okay to go ahead. Moore, you seem to be a good two weeks ahead of us here weather-wise.
Shelly has taken the twins to their first doctor appointment this afternoon. I hope she can visit here to let us know how things are going for her. I check in at Facebook every once in a while. Shelly is posting in there quite regularly as I think she can do so easily from her phone.
Eek! Aiden just fell down the stairs on AMC. Crazy Annie, LOL.
Just got back from the docs, the girls have each gained 2 oz. I am pumping so its nice to know they are getting enough.
Happy late mom's day to you all...esp to my 2 internet moms. Haha. Mine was great. We went to Cracker Barrel for breakfast and apparently most of RI and CT also did. But the breakfast was good.
Am off to try and take a nap, will let Vinnie play with the babies for a little while
