Nikki and Victor are staying with Summer while Nick is at home with Phyllis, frantic.
Mike explains that in cases of child endangerment, no family members are allowed with her (Summer), and usually the charges are true. After Summer wakes up, she will be put in foster care. Victor is furious, Nikki mortified.
Daniel, Jana and Kevin speculate about who killed Balford and along comes Aucker with search warrants for all of their things, cars, places. Aucker tells them Balford's phone was stolen from the evidence box (what Kevin took yesterday).
Billy and Mac coo and google, pretend they are not actually together. Mac wants to keep it a secret for now.
Lily and Cane arrive at Kay's 4th of July cook out. Lots of gushes about how Cane is Jill's son. He says he loves them all so much, blah, blah, blah. Group hug.
Paul tells Nina that the blood sample Cane gave had been frozen.
Victor insists Mike do whatever it takes to have Summer given to him and Nikki as guardians. Nikki sobs as V comforts her.

Cane lays it on thick about loving Jill and his "family". Mac scoots off to drop off buns at the shelter. Neil arrives, gets the "good news" about Cane. Cane proposes a toast....(as I said, he lays it on really thick).
Paul assures Nina that the blood sample was frozen. Where did he get it???? Paul cautions Nina not to go off half cocked but she says nope, she's not going to let that creep enjoy Phillip's life for one more minute, and off she goes.
Aucker, as obnoxious as ever, asks J,K, D and A about that cell phone. Aucker asks Daniel to take a polygraph about the theft of the phone.
Jill is vile to Pearl, calls Kay a cruel vindictive witch.
Billy and Murphy gush over how Mac saved Katherine's life yesterday. Billy buys Murphy's trailer!! (Love nest for him and Mac?)
More gushing between Cane and Lily. She says she's so happy and the more you have, the more you have to lose. Up charges Nina with Paul right behind, demanding in a loud voice that he tell her where that blood came from. (Yesterday I thought that confrontation took place at the grave site but it took place pool side at Katherine's.) Jill rants, Kay tries to get some order. Paul verifies that the blood WAS frozen. Nina remembers how Cane switched the samples, when he knocked over the table.
Nikki begs the cop guard to let her see Summer for a few seconds - no change in her condition. Mike arrives with the great news that the judge granted Nikki and V temporary custody of Summer. Happy, happy but as V offers all kinds of suggestions about Summer's life at the ranch, Nikki says that Summer should come home with her. (V and N are getting along really well, btw. V isn't angry, just curious about why Nikki would suggest that.)
Billy stops by his GCAC suite, followed by Mac, kiss, kiss.
Lily's upset, Jill rants, Nina tells Paul to let her take it from her so he leaves. Kay asks Cane to speak up if he has something to say. He looks devastated. (Oh YAY, I love it when sh hits fan, lol.)
Nikki explains to Victor that her concerns about Summer at the ranch are Ashley's delicate condition and then of course, there's Adam. Vic agrees. Mike comes to explain the procedure - both must appear before the judge tomorrow but it is confirmed, they have temporary custody. They both thank him profusely.
Billy and Mac and the usual with those two as they agree that sneaking around is fun. Kissing.
Cane says he is sorry, so sorry. Lily and Jill are in shock when he says he is NOT Phillip Chancellor. Funny reaction from Chloe, lol.
Daniel nailed the polygraph. Aucker's pissed off, tells all of the gang at CL not to leave town, stomps off. Kevin cuts open a cake and reveals the stolen phone, lol.
Back to the bbq at Kay's as Jill, Lily and Kay try to digest Cane's confession. Cane claims he did this to heal them, he would never do anything to hurt them. Lily freaks out in an indignant snit, Jill froths at the mouth. PHILLIP appears, says Cane didn't do this, HE did it. Nina gasps, covers her mouth. Jill's eyes nearly pop from her head.
Next:
Chloe calls Billy, says "It's all a lie". Billy asks what's all a lie.
Neil hollers to Cane to stay away from his daughter as Lily hides behind her dad. Billy comes along and punches Cane in the mouth, knocking him down.
Kay's back in the hospital with Nina at her side. Phillip says that the first thing they need to know is that the accident he "died" in wasn't an accident.
